Flaming Chinese Buffet — Restaurant in Kannapolis

UPDATE: now I see why there are all these bad reviews! I did, in fact, bring family here who came to visit from out of state. All 7 of us ended up with terrible stomach aches before we even left! And we clearly weren't the only ones because the stinky bathroom remains a very popular place I noticed. Speaking of bathrooms, after eating here, my mother in law was sick for the rest of her trip, and spent the bulk of her time in my bathroom... It was so embarrassing! I dont think I will ever come back here, and I can no longer recommend!!

Original: I am surprised about all these horrible reviews. Maybe it is because my fsmily visited on a Friday night but we thought this place was great! I loved the sushi. There is a wide variety. We have tried a lot of restaurants in town and my entire family agreed this is our current favorite. It is a little expensive but worth it compared to what we usually pay for just a styrofoam container of chinese take out. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice and the wait staff was very attentive and helpful. I felt bad I didnt have cash on me for a tip since we paid with cards. I do not think the food seemed cold or old like some other reviews mentioned. I plan on returning with my extended family. So typically we have a pleasant experience, not today. When we arrived there was a woman at the register yelling about how they charged her adult prices for 3 children that appeared to me to be under 10. They quickly sat my party of 2 and placed our drink orders. We just finished our 1st round of hibachi & went separate ways for a 2nd plate. I chose to get another helping of hibachi. I handed the cook my plate and stepped back for distance. When I looked down onto the counter there was a cockroach crawling towards a plate that was cooked & waiting to be picked up. I Lost It! I looked the cook in his eyes & motioned towards the big. He didn't flinch. He merely looked back down as if he didn't want to see it I then called over the server /host that was closest. She looked and laughed. She then ran for a napkin while telling her coworker it was a "cockaro". The roach was nearly at the plate when she scooped it up with the napkin & tossed it out. No one apologized! I immediately told my fiance and walked to the register with intentions of only paying for my drinks. I was so disgusted! The n they came running to me with my bill stating "we will offer you discount". LOL WHAT?! I told them I will pay for my drinks only & wont be returning. I did just that! First time going here . The food was good but the tea was sweet enough to kill you , everyone in the place twitched to water or soda & still got charged for the tea. I would go again just not order the tea unless that has been fixed . Also the waiters are so busy it took a while for them to come back whenever we needed something. For us it was $86 we had 5 adults & 2 children. Always very busy here a lot of customers. I would recommend going at least once to see if you like it or not . In January I brought a party of 12 here & was over charged $60 & on top of that they took out $17 tip charge even though I left a $20 tip on the table.
