I don't write many reviews and nobody sent me an email to ask me to review. But I simply have to support this business!
First off, I am German. I am not really crazy about donuts. But man - do I love The Donut House! I have had donuts from all of the standard places and more... And THIS one hits the spot! Do you know how Dunkin has generally no substance and you can eat like 3 of them at once? Or how you order Duck Donuts and not only are they small and messy, but also sunken in, smooshed, overall too loaded, and a bit disappointing? Or how Krispy Cream can be too dense and flavorless?
I understand everyone has different taste, but if those statements resonated with you, try The Donut House! And if they didn't response - well...STILL try it! What do you have to lose?!?!
Here is why: The Donut House has found the perfect balance between substance and sweet treat. Their donuts are just light enough, and just substantial enough. They are fluffy and light, but one will more than likely satisfy you. They hold their shape perfectly, even when getting delivered. And they are still amazing the next day! So don't be afraid to order a dozen🙂
My favorite is the regular glazed donut. The glaze is perfect - not too sweet, not too thick. But when you bite into it you experience the perfect bite and sweetness with a gentle crushing of the thin sugary glaze layer. It's delicious! The dough itself isn't too heavy on the yeast or on the sugar. It's exactly what a donut should be.
My family loves the different versions of donuts, apple turnovers, Long John's, cake donuts, and all of the different flavors and toppings they offer. They aren't overloaded and you don't make a mess when eating them.
We have been ordering donuts here waaaay too often lately. And maybe I am hoping you will, too, so they sell out on the weekends before I can order, ultimately holding me back from gaining 100 lbs 🤣 but really... Try them!
To "The Donut House": Thank you for making the world a better place with your...
Read moreI swung by The Donut House in Kannapolis, north of Charlotte on a Thursday morning to satisfy my sweet tooth, and I wasn’t disappointed.
I got the Apple Fritter, Toasted Coconut donut, Cinnamon Crumble and Chocolate Chip Biscoff Cookie donut. All of it tasted quite fresh. The standout for me was easily the Toasted Coconut donut with the coconut flavor coming through smoothly without being overpowering. The donuts revived my fondness for the donuts. I also got a Chai latte, which tasted great and was a great way to start the day.
The ladies behind the counter were quite helpful. There’s a seating area inside where you can enjoy the food if you’re dining. The morning at The Donut House seemed fairly busy with a steady stream of people coming in. It’s located in a strip mall at the corner, so there’s a lot of parking available outside.
Overall, The Donut House is a wonderful donut(and other delicacies) shop that is easily a star of the neighborhood. I highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area(and are looking to satisfy your...
Read moreI have to come back and do an update on this review, and I'm pretty sad about it. We used to LOVE this place, like go once a week, but since the new ownership came in it's definitely gone downhill. This place used to fill your donuts so full and now half the time you have to eat half the donut to get to the filling. That was my only real complaint til this morning, this time our orders were wrong. We ended up throwing them out, it's not exactly a cheap donut either, we've been disappointed enough to say something. (Old review) We tried this place out for the first time after my boys had the Dr appointment across the street. This place looks so small and cute from the outside I couldn't wait to see what it was like and it didn't disappoint! The space is very cute and comfortable. There are so many donuts to choose from it was difficult to do so! The donuts were some of the best I've ever had! The amount of jelly filling was so crazy amazing, you had some with every bite! We...
