I flew in from being out of state, and all I wanted was some sweet pancakes and breakfast. My husband and I settled on this iHop in Cloverleaf Plaza. Around 5:45 pm, we were greeted well, sat, and got our drinks fairly quickly. The waitress/hostess took our orders. My husband’s drink ran dry in about 10 minutes, and we didn’t see our waitress/hostess for at least another 30 minutes. She eventually returned with a refill and informed me they had no cinn-a-stack pancakes. I asked for the NY cheesecake instead. 10 minutes later, she returns to say that option is also sold out. I ask for the chocolate chocolate chip, then.
As she goes back, someone else brings out our food. I have a spoonful of burnt hashbrowns, my husband’s sirloin tips were tougher than shoe leather (he asked for medium rare), my pancakes are plain and hard as rocks, and to top it all off everything was cold. As if it had sat out for the past hour…. which it obviously did.
I told the cook and waitress that we were not eating the food as it was disgusting. I was told, flippantly, that my food would get recooked. I denied this service and asked just to pay for my drinks. The waitress offered a supervisor, but I denied that too since I figured if a supervisor was present and saw this atrocity, it wouldn’t have come to my table in the first place.
Any self respecting business would have let me leave without paying for anything. But I did offer to pay for our sweet teas. The total was $6.40. I handed over a $20 bill. She had to get change and left for about 5 minutes. I was given back $13, so I lost over an hour of my life (I was given my change at 7:10), was almost poisoned by out-of-temp food, and got stiffed $0.60.
I would not have minded the wait (even though there was only one other two-top in the place) if the food was hot. But my husband could see the staff horsing around in the back; he saw who I assume to be the cook throw our waitress over his shoulder, and I felt as though I was perceived as being rude when the service and food I was willing to pay for when I walked in wasn’t even fit to feed to a dog.
I don’t know what’s happening at this location, but I won’t be coming back, and I come here often with my mother for breakfast. It was absolutely awful. One star is more than this iHop deserves.
We ended up going to the Waffle House down the road on Copperfield and got a nice, hot meal and...
Read moreNight shift, cooks were great. For how the order was put in. Server was absolutely awful! On something for sure. Looked asked us how many to be seated, we had to tell her we had a toddler. Never brought us a high chair... So eager to walk away from the table, continuing to make herself do multiple runs. Could not direct her introduction to the table. Did not pay attention to the order. Argued and told the person who ordered for their child that they did not order what they had order. Never brought the chicken for the kids order. Silverware was disgusting 🤢. The father ordered a grilled chicken bowl. Was not told they were out of grilled chicken, they sent with fried chicken instead. Failed to let him know they were out of jalapeños till after he had started eating and realized himself. Left the menus after we ordered. Never brought a back up ketchup, I prepared for her failure and got one off another table. Slammed a tea down on the table. Never asked the mother how she wanted her steak cooked. Made her sick. Finally talked to the manager, who took care of the bill. Insisted we get Togo plate for the babies food that showed up last, after everyone else finished with what they could handle. We stayed to let the baby eat. She didn't eat it all but had two peices of chicken. At least she was able to eat. After talking to the manager, he claims she is new. I've worked at Ihop for over 8years, server and manager. They don't let people go on the floor by themselves until they KNOW that they are ready. District manager definitely needs to checkin on the stores night shift! We get to hear her try to justify herself by lying about the order being wrong on us, claiming we did not communicate. As we were leaving to make herself feel better, she exclaims ," they're probably poor." Again Nasty attitude. Horrible service. Lacy was ABSOLUTELY awful. Will be contacting district, and...
Read moreUpdate: 1/9/2024 IHOP corporate office reached out to me within hours of posting this review via email apologizing and asking for the photos I had taken. Within 24 hours a gentleman called and explained he had just taken over as an area manager the week prior and asked for more details on my visit as he was enroute to the location to make repairs needed and to investigate things like hair nets and proper dish cleaning. He apologized repeatedly and emailed a gift certificate to visit IHOP again.
Although we were seated quickly, the wait to order followed by the wait for food was excessive. The server did apologize, explaining they were busier than normal, although looking around, less than the tables were being used. The ladies bathroom needs help. The soap dispensers are falling off the walls. And the handle to open the door leaving the ladies room is missing. The only way to get out is another guest happening inside or by placing your fingers under the metal plate the handle is normally secured to. I cleaned our utensils prior to taking pictures, but these two photos speak for themselves.
Apparently I cannot upload the two photos. One showed the black curly hair swirling in my ice water, the other the unidentifiable remains on the rims of all glasses.
When we decided to visit IHop today, my husband asked, "Why don't we normally go there?" We couldn't remember, it's been a few years. Now I...
