South 29 Grill — Restaurant in Kannapolis

I have to say, I’ve been here a couple times and I truly tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because the food was fresh the very first time I went even after having to wait almost 50 minutes at the drive thru window for one chicken strip combo meal, without ever once being updated on the wait time or any acknowledgement of me even being there at all. But it happened once again, I waited about 45 minutes after ordering two combo menus and a soda, we sat at the window and watched them serve everyone else that walked in, the entire time they didn’t come to the window once and offer up a waiting time, didn’t look at us once. I wasn’t even upset about waiting the 45 minutes, it’s the lack of customer service that pisses me off. They could have at least 20 minutes in acknowledged our existence and said “ I’m so sorry for the hold up, we got slumped with customers inside, it should be about _ minutes and your food should be ready” it at least would have made the other 25 minutes BEFORE getting THE WRONG ORDER a little more bearable. The customer service here is non existent. And I watched the older woman touch her nose repeatedly and then touch the food they were bagging up multiple times. I wanted to get a refund after seeing that but my husband wanted his fish sandwich 🙄 that they didn’t even end up putting in the bag. I definitely will never go here again. The flag outside by the road says open but is it? Whomever owns this place needs to stop and consider reopening when the business is ready. 2 high school students dressed in hoodies and either sweatpants or gum shorts, neither appropriate.

Walked in the door, wasn't greeted. Asked if I should sit down or order from the counter. Was told I could sit but would order from counter as there was no table service. Menu board behind the counter only has bulbs showing. Walls are blank. Restaurant looks like a store room that someplace that serves food. Laminated menu. Daily specials are no special at all, listings are the same as regular listing on menus.

Ordered the gyro platter. One pita sliced into 4 chips. Meat looked like pre fab steakums from the 80s. Fries got cold quickly but salad was good. Was not given drink when I asked about she said there it is and pointed to another counter.

Floor and tables dirty. Only 4-5 tables of customers no one cleaning. Tables and floors dirty, spills on floor dried. Wonder if sanitation grading on this place. Good sercedd on styrofoam plates and cups, plastics flatware no napkins. First time and highly disappointed. Made a special trip to check...

I came here by accident months ago thinking it was Bojangles. I practically argued with the lady at the window that she had my online Bojangles order in there - She laughed it off, kindly redirected me to Bojangles next door but gave me a menu and asked for me to come back and try the food here sometime.

I came back about a month later and have visited frequently since. I've honestly never been inside - It does look a lot like the old Bojangles from what I can see but I don't come for the decor. I come for the food, and it never disappoints! I love that they still use the drive thru window so I can grab my online orders in a hurry, and every meal I've had from here has been wonderful. The food definitely has a southern home-y feel to it, and I frequent here anytime I've had a long day and just don't feel like cooking. I would definitely recommend...
