My boyfriend and I just ate at Famous Dave's for the first time. We were disappointed in the service and the food. There was a 15 minute wait when we arrived. They seated us within that time frame. The server Andrew K. took our order. I ordered the burnt ends with broccoli and garlic red skin mashed potatoes. My boyfriend ordered the burnt end sandwich with french fries and baked beans. However, we waited 45 minutes for our food. During this time, our server passed our table 5 times and did not stop to see us to communicate about our order. Our server finally reappeared with a drink refill, and my boyfriend asked him about our food. He told us that the receipt paper had needed to be changed and our order did not print. The manager came over to our table before the food came out and mentioned we would receive a discount due to the lengthy wait for our food but he did not mention how much of a discount we would receive. When the food arrived, my burnt ends and my boyfriend's sandwich were luke warm. Some of the pieces of the burnt ends were harder than others. The mashed potatoes I ordered were very warm but bland. My boyfriend had ordered baked beans which never came out. When we received our bill, the discount was only 15% off of $26.98. After the tax was added, the bill was $25.02. It should not take 30 minutes to change the printer paper in the kitchen. They told us that the order was lost. However, if it was lost, and they had been making our order at the last minute, all our food should have been hot when it came from the kitchen. Though the food and the service were subpar, I left a little bit of a tip, but we will NOT be going back. We've had better BBQ at other places in...
Read moreThe food here is amazing but my last two trips here I have had very unpleasant encounters with a couple members of the staff. The consistency of service is less than satisfactory. Both of these encounters were within the last two months, the first time, I called in a to go order thrilled and excited to get my usual 2 meat combo off the lunch menu (delicious). However, when I asked for my usual selections, the hot link sausage and south side rib tips the woman told me with an attitude that hot link sausage didn’t even come with the lunch menu and I needed to order something off the dinner menu to get what I wanted. This is the only thing I ever order, so I know she is lying. I go inside and speak with a manager about the lunch menu, he was great. Assured me that I could get what I wanted as their lunch menu is always available and smoothed everything over. Just last night I sit down at the bar, we excitedly ask the bartender about the margaritas at the restaurant, she lazily points to the flavors on the wall behind her and says, “they are all right there” with a foul demeanor. We shrug it off and ask about the price. She flips a menu open hard and slaps her finger down it, “the price is right there, $5”. Again with a horrendous attitude. We asked to be seated elsewhere and did not order drinks as we did not want her making them. I will say, our server, Elvia was fantastic. And the rest of the staff worked quickly to meet our seating accommodations. Thank you all. I just wish I could have overall great experiences with the...
Read moreI definitely recommend this place. I go to the one in Nebraska and their food is consistently good. This one is located literally across the street from the Great Wolf Lodge. I already knew the food isn't great at Wolf Lodge so we ate here before we checked in. We ordered the bbq for 2 - 3 but there were four of us, two adults and two children. It came with chicken, brisket, and ribs. I ordered an extra sausage, 2 extra corn bread muffins, and an extra side of mac and cheese. We ate our fill for lunch and then took the leftovers to the Lodge.
My daughter raved about how good the chicken was, my personal favorite was the ribs. All the sides were great, especially the mac and cheese. You have to try the cornbread, it's the best! The kids loved it all. We went around 2:30 so it was slow and service was prompt and great. Our server was very helpful in helping us to make our selection. The restaurant is rustic and very welcoming.
At the Lodge we had a refrigerator and microwave so we were able to eat all the leftovers in our room after the waterpark closed. Everyone was starving yet there was still a little bit leftover after we all ate until we were full. The portions were large and the price was very reasonable. I only paid $75 for the entire bill and that included two children's drinks and 3 adult cocktails. We went on a Monday and this meal is a weekly...
