GOMER’S GIRLY FOR LIFE!!!
I’ve been hanging out in Midtown for a bit now and I’ve gone to various liquor stores like most people my age. They’ve all been pretty standard. One night after a crapppp day I stopped into this Gomer’s, surprisingly for the first time. Well, I guess I saved the best for last!
When I walked in I was welcomed with “Hi welcome in! Can we help you find something?” In the friendly way, not the pushy way. I told them I was good but later I decided to ask about a bottle of scotch I’ve been considering getting my Dad but hadn’t been able to find. Cory, who turned out to be the GM, helped me find that bottle and recommended some awesome others. When I asked for the help Cory had a bunch of customers he was helping but he took the time to stop and help me out.
When I went to pay I had a lovely woman named Fynelle (spelling ?) check me out. Her name tag said Coco and she did say it’s easier to remember (she’s correct lol). Anyways, she asked how I was and I unintentionally ended up word vomiting about my bad day. With people coming and going Coco still took the time to listen to my mini meltdown, which was so sweet. When I finally took a breath she looked right at me, smiled and gave me some really sweet words of advice. I don’t need to go into detail this reviews already WAY too long, but she really made my day.
My review is long but hopefully worth it for whoever made it this far. The selection at Gomer’s was cool, the prices were awesome and the customer service was seriously top notch. I can’t finish my review without pointing out how much I appreciated the diversity represented among the staff. Midtown has a wide variety of people and it was great being somewhere that seemed to make everyone feel welcome. People can suck, especially in 2025, but warmer weather is here and with that comes lots of drinking with friends, family and more. I can’t wait to get what I need before each gathering at Gomer’s and I HIGHLY recommend...

I had a band and a crowd of people coming to my yard this past Saturday. I stopped in to Gomer’s Midtown the prior Tuesday and ordered a keg, barrel and tap. They said there would be no problem, my keg would arrive Friday. I let them my phone number and they said they would call me on Friday to tell me when my keg was ready to be picked up.
10p Friday night, I realize I hadn’t heard from Gomer’s, so I called them. Guy tells me they had a problem with their delivery person, my keg didn’t arrive and a manager would call me. I’m still level-headed at this point and explain to the guy that I have a crowd coming tomorrow, Gomer’s completely screwed me over and asked what the hell I was supposed to do. The guy said, “I don’t know.” I asked if they had my phone number, why didn’t they call me earlier to tell me Gomer’s didn’t have my keg. Guy said,, “I don’t know.” I reiterated that I would like to hear from a manager. That still hasn’t happened.
Obviously, when you order a keg, it’s for a planned event. The liquor store absolutely has to be reliable. That isn’t Gomer’s. Maybe it never was.
I went online, ordered a keg from Total Wine after their regular business hours and a chilled keg was waiting for me when they opened. THAT’s reliability. Thanks Total Wine! Thanks for...

The lights were off, and the employee at the door said, "We're closed." I said, "It's not 10:30," and I walked in. Another employee, who was nice, pointed me to the sparkling wine. I grabbed three bottles. As I was checking out, I showed the nice one that it was still five minutes before closing. I apologized to the mean one. He responded, "Don't talk to me." I'm 55 years old and I run my own business. it was the rudest I have ever been treated in a retail transaction. If you're near Fairway, go to Northwood Liquors. They're awesome. Update: the only way I saw the manager's response is that I got some update from Google on my reviews, not that I leave that many. First of all, I called twice and left a number both times. But he didn't call me back. Secondly, i didn't "feel" that I had a bad experience-I had a bad experience with someone who was overtly rude and should be fired. My attitude in running my successful business is: the customer's not always right, but he is right until demonstrably proven wrong. I stand by my original...
