Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre (MET) — Attraction in Kansas City

This is a great little theater company which produces excellent performances of classic works, filling a void in Kansas City where many theater companies tend to produce newer plays. What a fabulous experience! A small theatre, The Warwick, is in the process of being converted to host various entertainment. I was privileged to see the final "open rehearsal" of "Shawshank Redemption" and couldn't rave more about the whols producrion if I tried! The sponsors, donors, and attendees were all excited to see such a great piece and to know their money was being put to great use with these renovations. Wonderful space! This ensemble is surprisingly accomplished on a shoestring budget. Its obvious these are professionals who are committed to the dramatic arts. Max capacity is not more than 100 on church pew benches, but theres wine, coffee, and pastry in the lobby and comfy couches to socialize before and after the show.
