This is a pretty good restaurant and I like their street tacos. The one star is for this story: A co-worker at my office ordered a water with his meal that he tipped. The fountain has one of those things where the water comes out of the lemonade spigot when you push a little lever beside the label. Well, it wasn't functioning properly. My co-worker clicked fiddled with the machine and a small bit of lemonade came out before he eventually got the water to work. The gentleman who clearly runs the place handed him a bill for $2.16. My co-worker tried to explain and was accused of stealing and given the whole "I'm trying to run a business" bit by the manager. My co-worker handed him a card to settle the bill and the manager told him it was a $5.00 minimum. Annoyed and embarrassed by the heated exchange, my co-worker paid the five bucks. This is all true.
If you want good street tacos and can't find a taco truck, go here I guess. First of all, you shouldn't make someone else pay for your equipment failures. Secondly, $2.16 is outrageous for a fountain drink. What is this, a movie theater? Third, a five dollar minimum on card purchases is really awful, especially in this case. Here's what I think: the old man just wanted to gripe about how hard it is to run a business. Well. Enjoy this: I'm not going here again. I'm also going to tell this story every time someone brings up...
Read moreWell, ordered door dash, which was an experience all by itself (ugh!).
As far as Cancun Fiesta Fresh, much was left to be desired. We ordered a taco salad, chicken enchiladas, a quesadilla, and a carnitas chimichanga. Not sure what was wrong with the beans, but they definitely tasted off. The chicken (for taco salad and enchiladas) was very dry and had a flavor that my son described as “old perfume”. My chimichanga was naked 😬, and when I called to ask about cheese topping that has been a part of every chimichanga I have ever ordered, they said I could have added it. I went back to my order to make sure that it was NOT an option…it wasn’t. The chimichanga, aside from naked, wasn’t bad. The lightly seasoned carnitas were better by leaps and bounds than the tasteless beans. Even with the pinch of shredded cheese, they weren’t very good.
Now, my daughter LOVED her quesadilla!! She said that was 5 of 5 stars, but the rice tastes like cardboard.
The lettuce in the taco salad was the way lettuce gets when it has sad there for too long. Kind of soggy and just “off”.
Two stars because my daughter LOVED the quesadilla. Also, maybe it was just an off day. Best of luck to...
Read moreI have visited this location a few times a year for 5 or 6 years. Used to love it, but Thursday 4/13/17 is the last time I will ever go. Street tacos used to be the best in the city (but the quality has slipped considerably) and the coronaritas were tasty and made in front of you (now they pour them out of a mix). Overall, everything has slipped. The final straw: last night I saw with my own two eyes, the only employee who was making the food clearing the uneaten beans off used plates and back into the receptacle with the other beans. Absolutely disgusting practice.
Moreover, the cashier was incredibly rude to me. He complained for absolutely no reason to my fiance that I was being aggressive. I calmy asked him what the deal was. He said Cancun fiesta fresh is not a bar (my friends and I had eaten and had a few drinks a piece). He then began to complain that he had been working since 8 am. I kindly told him that was a terrible excuse for treating a loyal customer this way. I called him out on what I had seen with the beans (he literally ignored me) and told him I'd never eat...
