I tried La Botana KC recently and was really impressed. Parking was easy, which is a nice change compared to a lot of spots around town. Inside, it feels low-key and comfortable, more like hanging out at someone’s house than a big chain restaurant.
The steak fajitas were the highlight for me—lots of flavor, tender meat, and they came out sizzling hot. The portions were solid too. For the kids, it was great that they had familiar options like fries, a burger, and even a hot dog, so everyone at the table found something they liked.
Service was friendly and relaxed. The staff checked in often enough without hovering, and they seemed to genuinely care that we were having a good time.

The iced tea tasted like the ice machine was moldy, which is interesting given that they've just opened. We didn't stay past that point, we figured if the chips and salsa were that bad then the food wouldn't be much better.
