I must have overlooked this place a dozen times thinking they were a chain. I'm glad I took the time to look at them closer. I got the 12 wings and two sides which was a little over $20. Comparing the price to Chinese restaurants that I've been trying lately, my concern was that I wasn't getting as much for my dollar, but I've been so disappointed in the protein in said Chinese restaurants. I was quite pleased that I got my monies worth in the chicken quality Wings Cafe uses. I tried the boneless wings since I got my order to go (I prefer bone in, but only if hot right from the kitchen). They have a nice variety of sauces to pick from. I look forward to going back and trying different sauces and their bone in wings. Per the cashier's suggestion, I tried their fries and jalapeno poppers. Both were good. The jalapeno poppers were a little too perfect in shape and consistency, so I don't think they are made there, but they didn't taste frozen. I'm a big eater and although I didn't have any leftovers, I was miserably stuffed. Next time I know to just go with one side or no sides, just more wings. The restaurant was nice. They had plenty of room for another table or two; a bar would be nice. They had football playing on the TVs. I think of a bar when I think of wings and this was more of a restaurant (nicer than a fast food restaurant, but not like a bar where you may sit at for hours drinking and eating). Their website talks a lot about their fish, but doesn't specify the type of fish. The answer is catfish. They have a sign by the cashier warning us that we need to make sure our order was done correctly since they are not responsible if we get the wrong order. When I got home, although I ordered fries, I did not get any catsup. Nor a napkin or fork to eat with. Be aware to check for these things if you won't have these essentials at your destination. I did get two containers of Ranch dressing which was generous. They did a good job in keeping my food separated in my to-go container. This included the different sauce flavors...

I visited Wings Café based on Yelp and Google reviews and I am not disappointed.
When I arrived I was greeted by an employee behind the register. He was busy doing something but let me know he'd be right with me. I was not in a rush to order since I was still reading the menu (the menu is posted on large chalk boards high behind the counter). I am a bit tall (5'11"), a tad bit blind, and I found that a bit hard to read so I took pictures and viewed the menu that way. I did not notice if there were actual paper menus available.
By the time I was ready, the male employee had gone back into what I assume is the kitchen and a female employee was now out front prepared to take my order. I confirmed with her that I would be able to split my 18-piece, Wings only order into both dry rub and wet sauce and she verified yes. So that's what I ordered - 18 pieces, Wings only, and a soft of fried Okra. I love spicy so I had kickin chicken and cajun (both dry rub) and cajun Buffalo (wet rub).
Expectedly, it took a few minutes for my them to prepare my order. While I was waiting, I observed the indoor seating - spacious. No one was dining at the time. It was still early in the day; I think they had recently opened too. I also walked around outside and checked out the outside seating area. I liked the outside seating. The ground is lined with faux grass and plants create a barrier from the sidewalk. It gives it a real outdoor, summery vibe.
I was expecting to have to go back inside to retrieve my order but the female employee who took my order walked it out to me. It smelled heavenly! Score!
When I got to the car I peeped inside the bag and noticed these huge pieces of wings. Score! When I got back and opened it up, I noticed a large amount of hot, fresh crispy Okra. Score again!!
All that was left is for the actual taste...Whoa!! Ahhhmazing!
If you read my review from a few days ago you'd know I did not have a good "wings" experience, at all!! This, on the other had, is drastically better....
Read moreI have never said this on here, but this is just awful. Stay Away! There is very high potential for food poisoning here. Stopping to pick up some to-go food for a few friends that recommended this place very highly, we received terrible food and service that was equally as bad. Our group ordered our food to stay and dine in, as well as the to-go order. The girl at the counter either did not care or was utterly incompetent. She did not seem to know which end was up. The same could be said for whomever was preparing the food in the back. It is either that or the management/owner is telling them to skimp in every way they are able.
All of the food ordered came out room temperature, as if it had been sitting around for an hour or more. The fish sandwich that I ordered had obviously been cooked and then recooked. Danger! It was bone dry. The counter girl asked if I wanted garnish, There was no garnish. I had said yes. When I went back to ask about it, the counter said they had not had any all day. What? We ordered boneless wings for the kids and they got bone-in wings. When asked, the counter girl said we had to specify boneless. What? WE DID !!! Those boneless wings that were delivered were cold wings covered in warm sauce. Yuck! Danger!
The to-go order felt warm and we didn't think about it much until we got where we were going. Our friends were equally disappointed too, saying the food was hard and rubbery, as if it had been microwaved.
We all decided that this place is no longer worth the trouble and we will never be back again. Count on that. This place is trash and needs a health and safety inspection...
