Have you ever had such a day from h3ll that the IDEA of cooking is hard to handle so you go grab fast food instead?? I did that tonight. I had the worst day today and while I can easily go without eating, my toddler certainly couldn't. So I opted to go to Wendy's. What makes this WORSE is I chose to go to THIS specific Wendy's despite there being one 0.9 miles away from me because THIS Wendy's in the past was better than the closer one. Tonight it was WORSE.
I went to the drive thru (I know, I know, first mistake) because I didn't want to get out of my car. I placed my order, and despite reading it back to me correctly, they still gave me the wrong thing. So I have to get OUT of my car which I didn't want to do in hopes they could give the right item. This means I had to take my toddler out, also. You know what toddlers are like if you're a parent reading this. Especially those hungry ones. Now I'm hauling my toddler who wants to eat 10 minutes ago, I don't feel well, I have to put on my mask, and I have to go INSIDE the building to talk to one of the idiots who couldn't listen. I get inside and THERE'S NO ONE AT THE COUNTER. I call to the person in the back, they can't hear, so I call louder, I'm motioned to wait. So there I stand for 5 minutes while the food is getting cold. 2 employees walk past me, neither offer assistance. Finally one approaches. And I get it, your job sucks and you hate life, but the lack of professionalism this little girl possessed is appalling. I explain what happened and she looks at me as if I should just accept the problem. If it was me, I would have, but my toddler won't eat spicy chicken nuggets, SO I CAN'T ACCEPT THE MISTAKE. she gives me the regular nuggets and I leave.
I get home and give my toddler the rest of their food and sit down to eat mine. My spicy chicken sandwich thats now room temperature and hard as a rock so its not edible. Fantastic end to this awful day, let me tell you.
But wait, thats not all! I call them up, figured I'd give them another shot to fix the issue. The phone goes unanswered, OF COURSE.
So, if the manager of this location happens to be reading this, the staff working around 17:00 (5pm if you can't tell military time) on September 30th are the WORST you have in every way possible.
Avoid this establishment during the evening hours is my recommendation to...

The Oatmeal bars I order were as "hard as a rock". I wanted to warm them, so they hopefully would be softer like the ones I used to get at breakfast time. This was the evening of Feb 13th, 2023, and I picked up my mobile order at the 4140 Rainbow Blvd, Kansas City, KS location.
I stayed in the room while using the microwave. I put 15 seconds on the microwave and very quickly smelled something burning. I turned around to see fire in the microwave!
I took the paper plate that I had set one Oatmeal bar in it's paper bag and put them into the sink and ran water over it to put out several little fires! The oatmeal bar was totalled blackened!!! No real harm done, but that was way too close!
I looked at my second Oatmeal bar still in it's bag and saw on the back of the bag and in very small print:
"CAUTION: DO NOT MICROWAVE."
This is insufficient warning!!! I guess the paper bag is perhaps a type of parchment paper? It is very thin and partly translucent. I can't believe Wendy's (or anyone) use such a cheap bag that is unsafe to use for a few seconds in the microwave!!!
PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!
The rest of the food was OK. The grilled chicken sandwich was tender, but quite dry due to very little sauce in the sandwich. I love this sauce, but it looked to be only about 1/2 teaspoon of sauce...not enough by a long shot!
The small vanilla frosty was rather bland. The frosty blend was not smooth and creamy as I expected. Instead, it was what I would call too crystalline. Gritty!
Lastly, I couldn't get the Wendy's app to process with the free item (small chili) that was offered. I had to remove the alleged free item to get my order to total the cost, and finish processing.
NOT A FUN MEAL TIME!

Read moreI went to this Wendy's on Sept 22nd for burger day deals. I had installed the app to the phone. I got in the drive through line and when I went to order I asked about burger day and they said I had to do a mobile order. I said ok but there is a dine in option for the deal and they said I'd have to come inside to use it and I couldn't use it through the drive through and only mobile orders would be accepted through the drive through. Ok fine, I sit in line at the drive through so I can pull into a parking spot to dine in. I parked my car and they locked the door to the restaurant. I was surprised because they had just told me I could use the deal to dine in but apparently that wasn't an option either. There was a line of cars in the drive through line now so I attempted to call the store and it would get a message saying out of memory error. I called a few times, 2 of which someone picked up the phone and hung up immediately on me. I then proceeded to call the general wendy's customer service number and waited on hold for 20 mins. I tried "contact us" through the website about a problem through the website but it wanted an order number which... I couldn't even order. I don't know what on earth that store is thinking telling customers that can't use a coupon or deal in the drive through and then lock the doors so you can't eat inside. This was the biggest waste of my time and I normally don't bother complaining about fastfood experiences because my expectations are pretty low when it comes to food quality or service but I'll make an exception for this case where I was lied to and then prevented from ordering or even contacting the store. I've tried calling a couple times since the 22nd and have yet to get an answer. You might check in on that store, maybe they've been held...
