Carrabba's Italian Grill is a very elegant cuisine restaurant. We came there to celebrate my niece's 32nd year old birthday I was visiting from New York City visiting my niece that lives in Richmond, Texas. I have NEVER been to Carrabba's before and yes, even though I live in NYC.
We called ahead and place a reservation for a party of 5 people. It was a Wednesday night and we arrived around 8:32pm. As we entered the parking area there was a lot of parking spots to park our vehicle. I assumed because they closed at or around 10pm the restaurant wasn't packed that night. We was just happy they were open that time of the night we we arrived and we could have a great dinner and celebrate with the birthday girl.
As we entered Carrabba's we was greeted very welcomey by a young gentlemen. We addressed him that we called ahead for a party of 5 and he asked us if we would like to be seated at a table or a booth, we collectively chose the booth.
As we sat down in our booth we were greeted by a young lady who said her name which I think she said is Dana (but don't quote me on that 😁) she greeted us very nicely and handed us our menus and said, your waiter will be with us shortly, before she left.
Then a waiter came over and forgive me (don't remember his name) came over with two baskets of bread and gave us what I think was pesto. He then drizzled olive oil over it which was in two or three small saucer plates for the table.
After that (Dana, I think 😉) came back and we ordered our drinks. I'm not sure what came first....the drinks or the bread w/ olive oil pesto. Anywho, I ordered a Sangeria and my other niece ordered a Sangeria as well and I think everyone else ordered I believe was either a Margarita or a Cocktail. I'm not a wine person 🤷🏽♂️ but they do have on the menu the best wines that pear well with which entrée you choose.
We all looked at the menu and the first meal we collectively agreed upon was a combination platter which consisted of mozzarella sticks, calamari, and stuffed mushrooms in a very delicious creamy sauce with marinara sauce as an additional compliment.
Once we received the combination platter we all had a taste of the platter. The Calamari was tender and crispy is was not chewing, the Mozzarellaz sticks were battered very well they were not greasy, and the Mushrooms in that incredible creamy sauce was amazing, I didnt taste the marinara sauce but I'm sure it was divine because there was not much left in the dish.
Dana 😉 came back about 10 minutes later and ask us if we were ready to order our main coarse. Everyone ordered what they read from the menu. I ordered a dish called "Pollo Rosa Maria"
It was two tender pieces of grilled chicken breasts stuffed with fontina cheese and thinly sliced prosciutto w/ sautéed mushrooms placed over the top of the chicken with crispy mushroom fries (I think they were mushroom fries 🤔)
The dish comes with two sides and my sides was a caesar salad with grated Parmesan cheese, croutons in a light creamy dressing and my second side was the mushroom fries (I think 😆) but they were fries that I'm for certain.
My niece for dessert had a nice delectable slice of Chocolate Tiramisu Cake and my sister had a I think was either Strawberry or Cherry cheesecake which they both said was delicious. Unfortunately, I wasnt able to snap a pic of the cheesecake but it did look scrumptious 😋
As you may have notice in my review, I DO NOT PRODESS to be a food critic nor am I good remembering names 😂 but I love good food when I eat it and what I will say is Carrabba's Italian Grill food is #OUTSTANDING
I recommend anyone to try this restaurant out you will not be disappointed. I will definately be heading back to this Carrabba's location when I make another visit to Richmond, Texas. Carrabba's gets...
Read moreMy son, daughter and son-in-law wanted to celebrate my 75th birthday Saturday. I live near I-10 and Beltway, so there are many great restaurants (Taste of Texas, Pappasitos, Pappadeaux to name a few). I suggested a change, let's go to Carrabbas. Since my daughter has a three year old and seven month old child and lives further out west on I-10 she suggested Carrabbas in Katy. We were all there about 5:15-5:30 - not you typical rush hour for restaurants on a Saturday evening. Our order was taken and within about 5 minutes my grandson's macaroni and cheese was placed on the table - our salads arrived about 10 minutes later. When the waiter brought our meals he asked if anyone wanted Romano cheese on their meals, all six adults requested the cheese and before he left the table my son-in-law requested refills on the waters. My son finally asked if we could start eating or did we have to wait on the cheese - when the waiter arrived with the Romano cheese we had all eaten some of our meals,. We should have sent our meals back because of the poor serve and requested when he could get the meals and the proper condiments (Romano Cheese) al at the same time to bring out HOT food. Oh, almost forgot he did bring ONE (1) water refill. We reminded him we all request refills on water. As another member of the wait staff was seving another table I requested refills on the waters as we had previously asked. This still did not get anyones attention. I was ready to call for the manager but my daughter suggested "it is you birthday just enjoy the fact that we are all together". The waiter came by to clear the table and asked if we wanted dessert, again I request water refills. The waiter brought the water and asked again if we wanted dessert, so we asked for a dessert menu. This took another 8-10 minutes to arrive. If I had paid the bill I definitely would not have left a tip and I would have written a note on the reciept and suggested that the waiter let his manage read the note before charging the credit card. My son and son-in-law split the bill which was probaably at total of $150.00 - $170.00 before taxes and any tip they left. Really put a cloud on my 75th birthday and destroyed my desire to ever eat at Carrabbas again!!! Maybe this note should also go to Bloomin' Brands and Johnny Carrabba to let him know what a terrible job your restaurant did. JW While writing this note my daughter called and asked if anyone else was experiencing sickness today - she has been throwing up...
Read moreWe've always enjoyed Carrabba's, especially this Carrabba's. And recently we found more reason to be even bigger fans of this restaurant. Our son announced to us about 5 weeks ago, his plans to marry. I had to scramble to help the bride (her mother lives abroad), get a dress, alterations, flowers, cake, and a place to entertain the guests. I did not have a lot of time and admittingly, a little worried about finding a place to host the reception on such short notice.
Something told me to call a familiar family favorite, which was Carrabba's at 6501 S. Fry Rd., in Katy, Texas. They provided a good selection of food and a wonderful room to host a wedding party of about 35 guests. Kenny O'Rourke was highly personable and answered my many calls and texts, to respond to all of my questions and help coordinate a beautiful event. He even ordered special-colored linens for the tables to go along with the color scheme. They were able to store the wedding cake and the flowers that we brought early the morning of and allowed us freedom to have the tables set up as we wished. There were separate tables for the gifts and guest book and the wedding cake.
The food, which was absolutely wonderful, and the drink flowed brilliantly. The special staff that he assigned, Vanessa & Polina, did a tremendous job of keeping our guests very happy. They were phenomenal. The bartender (I'm sorry I did not catch his name), had to I'm sure, work very hard to keep up with the demands of the wedding guests.
I would give a 10-star review for how well this very memorable moment in our son's and his new bride's life turned out. For any future family event, be it a birthday, retirement, graduation, reception, etc., Kenny O'Rourke @ Carrabba's @ 6501 S. Fry Rd. in Katy, Texas will be the first call that I make. Thanks again Kenny, Vanessa & Polina! You all helped make our son's and his new bride's special day everything they could have hoped for and more.
Sincere Regards, Tami...
