Frenchys Chicken- Katy mills — Restaurant in Katy

Man, first and foremost, this particular location just opened, this was taken into account with what I’m bout to type. I ordered the King’s Choice, good name for a menu item. 3 wings an a 2 piece dark that’s a great combo. The chicken is delicious. Reminds me of my Granny’s recipe for yard bird. Old fashioned, you ‘lol know what I’m talking about after the first bite.The Collard Greens were some of the best I remember eating. All they needed was a few drops of hot sauce an I wish I ordered a larger size. The only 2 nitpicks I have are by no means a dealbreaker are not that deep. First was the wait, now I get it, it’s a chicken joint, frying chickens takes time, and the food was hot so, it is what it is. Finally the forgot my Wife’s roll with her tender meal, and on my King Choice 2 piece they gave me 2 thighs instead of a leg and a thigh. If the young man, who graciously handed us our food would have mentioned that it would have been no problem, all good. However since it wasn’t I feel I should let others know how it went. I will be coming back next time, hopefully it will be a little better. Thank You and God Bless...

I stopped by based on the reviews because it’s hard to travel to the original now. The service was great. The 2 stars for food was because the wing was good and the meat pie. I ordered the 3 piece campus w/fries. Side of dirty rice and fish. The fries I hate the original changed their fries and this one had the same Burger King tasting fries with too much salt. The breast was fried too hard but everything was too salty. Not sure how the original location always gets it just right. I will give them another try because they may have been rushing since it was Sunday. It is best too much vs none at all. So it could’ve just been a bad day.
