AGR Sports Bar – Live Sports, Axe Throwing & Games — Restaurant in Katy

I came here a few weeks ago to watch UFC. While the atmosphere was nice, the drinks were well below average for a bar.

We tried a spicy marg which tasted like spicy water, barely any tequila. The 2 mexican candy shots I also had were okay and closer to the taste of a margarita, and probably contained 1 shot between the 2 of them.

The service was beyond slow, probably due to staffing for a high attendance night but also due to the speed of the bartenders making drinks. The female bartender that we interacted with seemed like she was on something, causing her to fumble around and slur her words. I'm not against having a good time at work but it was definitely impacting the speed/quality of the drinks.

Just to be clear, I don't think I have a high standard for drinks so for these drinks to be so bad is alarming. If you are going to charge for normal price drinks, then they should taste like a normal priced drink. These drinks at most should've cost $8/9 for the quality they were serving.

This place is new to me, but I'm excited to check it out more. I went in for one drink. The place was empty, but really nice. Laser tag, paintball, axe throwing, pool tables, and video games... with a full bar!

It's designed for a date night or group events, so cocktails are pricey. They aren't really encouraging folks to come drink... it's more to come socialize.

It's clean. Comfortable. I think folks would feel safe and relaxed so it's a good first date (or date night with something different). I didn't try the food, but they do have a menu. Most of the employees seemed to be new, but well trained. I plan to go back with friends.

They supposedly have live music on Saturday nights, but I haven't checked that out yet... it's...

Went there for the first time this past Saturday night around 9p to do ax throwing and the ax throwing was super fun however this place just gives off a weird vibe. None of the lights in the parking lot work so doesn't feel safe from the get-go. They had a live band playing but they were playing jazz music which I found really odd and not the right type of music for the customer demographic in there. There were maybe 10 people in there in total including us. Also be prepared to pay a little over 3% in added fees every time you use your card. There were also kids behind the bar for some reason.
