We've gone 2 summers in a row, and I think we're done coming back. The cabanas are a great option for me, as I have a sun allergy that requires a lot of sunscreen and multiple shade breaks, and that's ultimately why we came back this year. But when you pay $300+ for a cabana, the service should be better and both years it's been slowwwww. I'm talking, faster to go get whatever you're needing and you'll have time to eat before anyone shows up, if they show at all. I do like the new call button/safe/cooler combo, even if the call button mostly goes unanswered. We have gone only on weekdays when they weren't super busy, so there really wasn't any excuse for the super slow service. Lots of employees sitting around chit chatting and not paying attention. Food is way overpriced, even with discounts, but the souvenir cup is worth it if you want sodas. The pizza looked so good but is NASTY- the cheese is weirdly soft and the crust is doughy/mushy even when it looks cooked. Chicken strips are thick and unseasoned but fine dipped in bbq sauce, ketchup, etc. Fries were good and seasoned. Fruit was okay- they don't cut the core out of the pineapple and left all the skin on the cantaloupe, so it was hard to eat since we got the rounded/butt part of the cantaloupe. We also got treats, like Bahama Bucks and Dole Whip. Also over priced, but that was to be expected. They also don't adhere to menu pricing. I asked for a pineapple/vanilla swirl Dole Whip, which was $5.99 on the menu (pineapple, vanilla, or swirl in a cup or on a cone) and they tried to charge me $6.99, which was the sundae price. I mentioned that I didn't want the sundae, which was listed as pineapple vanilla swirl plus raspberry powder. She said they were out of the raspberry powder, so all pineapple vanilla swirl were being charged as the sundae. Basically you're paying $1 more for no reason. As for the rides, they're fun but more for a younger crowd. The lines weren't too bad while we were there and we rode everything we wanted to both times we've been. My kids are teenagers and got bored of the rides fast, not scary enough for them I guess. I like that they employ so many teenagers, I just wish they were better trained and knew what they were doing. Seems like none of the employees we interacted with had been properly trained on their job. All in all it's not terrible, but it's...
Read moreMy family has gotten season passes every year since the park opened. My kids love it here and I’m so glad to see all of the new additions they’ve introduced this year. It’s really cool to have “big rides” for the little kids. My daughters love it. I only wish they would’ve had these two years ago. It would’ve saved my oldest some heartbreak because she’s stricken with having short parents so she’s short as well. Haha! But she’s big enough to ride everything this year. There’s something to be said about delayed gratification too.
The staff is very friendly and always accommodating. An observation that I’ve made over the years is that they’re more than willing to make special accommodations as long as you approach them correctly. Some accommodations they make solely based on how you ask because they’re not requirements. If you present your situation in a sincere way and are respectful and honoring, from what I’ve seen and experienced, they will definitely take care of you. If you have a bad attitude and are demanding and unreasonable, often times the guests walk away with a bad taste in their mouths, and it’s their own fault.
I often times see several cabanas not being used. I’m not saying that they should allow guests to use them for free, but maybe lowering the price might allow guests to justify spending a little extra for premier seating/lounging. But that’s my opinion.
The food is definitely good for a water park. Some of the best that I’ve had in fact. I’m always amazed at the barbecue. Not because it’s the best, but it’s always better than I expect it to be. Especially the sausage on a stick! Fire! My only complaint about the food is sometimes the chopped beef is very greasy and the fries are not as fresh as they could be. Other than that, we’ve been very pleased with the food.
We also noticed that this year they started doing a few more interactive activities with the kiddos at the kids area. They had chalk for the kids to draw with and had hoolah hoops and did other fun things with them. I’m not crazy about the safety breaks, but it is what it is.
All in all, we love Typhoon Texas and will continue to be guests here for...
Read moreSadly after visiting this water park in the past coming all the way from Austin TX with the past great experience I thought everything was going to be great again. Anyway this time Saturday 7/15/2023 we make plans to go again to the water park for a 2 day weekend with my family including my daughter and her husband and my granddaughter, she is only 7 months old. We purchased the all season passes online for both parks. At the time of the arrival the line was long but moving quickly. After scanning my bracelet I was already in with my granddaughter, I was pushing her on the stroller. Then I look back at my wife and this guy was no letting her go into the park because my wife was carrying a one gallon of water that was previously open. My wife was trying to explain to this Guy named Richard that she needs the water to mix the formula for our Granddaughter, obviously she is an infant and she’s not able to drink soft drinks or eat burgers at the water park. She needs her special water, anyway After trying to convince him my wife entered the park and I asked her what was the issue so she explained to me and I went back and talked to another person at the gate and I told her that I also need that water to clean my granddaughter after swimming since the park don’t have hot water for the guests to shower, they only have cold water in the middle of the park but not private showers, so she went to talk to Richard and still He won’t let us keep the water so I told to dump the water and handle the Enty gallon to me. This was special water to mix baby formula my wife was really angry asking me to go to customer service and ask for a full refund for our 5 season passes but I told her to Relax and she was still mad of me for not doing anything. Around 2pm we exit the park to go out and feed the baby and we return to the park at 3:30 for another hour. We decided to return to our home and not staying Sunday to avoid all the trouble with the baby water. Just making things clear the water parks don’t allow food but water is always welcome according to the water Park receptionist. All of this happened around 12:30 to 1pm. Please excuse...
