Blue Tiki Tattoo — Local services in Kauai

On our Kauai vacation at the end of January 2019, my GF and I wanted to get tattoos done by a local artist. We visited Blue Tiki and were greeted by friendly and professional staff. Both Cody and Billie Joe were excellent and very helpful when coming up with a design and all of the considerations to go along with it. I was particularly impressed with Cody’s interactions with another potential client when he brought up the appropriateness and location of the guy’s idea. He was honest and polite (and rightly addressed the guy’s idea IMO). The shop is impeccably clean. We booked with “Miss Billie” who was able to accommodate our travel home date, a Sunday no less. We sent her the design ideas and some pictures. She came up with fantastic final product designs for both of us, with her own personal artistic flair. Both our designs ended up being bigger and took longer than we had initially thought, however, Billie was able to get the job done. Both of our designs appear to be a bit outside of Billie’s traditional wheelhouse based on her design book, but her work was fantastic. I booked my trip to this beautiful island last minute and had planned nothing until I got there, letting the universe guide me on my adventure. I reached out to the shop via Google to see if I could get squeezed in for an appointment with only 2 days lead time, with no expectations to be accommodated but hopeful nonetheless. The shop owner Billie promptly responded to me and apologized that she was out of town, and that the shop may be short staffed but to reach out to Sabrina at the shops email and see if there was an opening. Sabrina Renee responded promptly as well and we were able to work out an appointment the day before I'd be leaving. The stars aligned and I was jazzed. I had an amazing experience!!! The shop was beautiful and clean, the conversation was great and the piece of art I left with was stunning. It is Aquarius season and also a week before my birthday. I was drawn to the idea of getting art that represented my astrological sign and wanted to commemorate my transformative experience. The universe lined me up with Sabrina Renee and she delivered! If I could give 100 stars I would. Billie is an absolute boss at tattooing, and takes everything that goes along with it seriously. SUPER clean, fun shop in a great location.

I wanted a Disney themed tattoo with a Hawaiian twist to it, and she knocked it out of the park. Gave her complete artistic freedom to design whatever she wanted after giving her some of my favorite movies, and there wasn't a single thing I wanted to change.

Communication from start to arrival was outstanding, she even shifted her schedule to fit me in on a day she was normally closed, which was very much appreciated. The art was sent for approval just before I arrived, and we were rockin' and rollin' right on schedule.

Artwork and shop aside, the real gem here is Billie herself. She is an absolute treasure in this world, and we had SO much fun during my session. You ever meet people you just click with? Billie is just such a wonderful person, and I am so happy I chose to walk through her door.
