This was such an awesome excursion and our tour guide Levy made it even better by intertwining his Hawaiian heritage into the experience. He was knowledgeable and funny and the river was so calm and beautiful to kayak on and the hike was awesome. You definitely want to wear water sandals with some tread because you are walking in thick mud. Some of the tourists in our group wore flip flops or athletic shoes which was comical to watch. It gets hot on the hike so you will want to wear loose breathing clothing. You will be climbing up rocks, or embankments that are slippery on the hike. If you’re not in decent shape then you will want to sit this one out. I’m usually the slowest person on hikes with my family but I was at the front of the line with both kayaking and hiking. We had to stop and wait for a lot of the others so that slowed the tour down quite a bit which was frustrating. Other than that, we really enjoyed the entire experience!...
Read moreIt was a great experience! It's easy enough, but was also frustrating if you are kayaking with someone who never kayaked before (teenagers). LOL. With that being said, the river was calm and easy to kayak. The hike was also easy enough, but slippery in spots. There are a few parts where you do need climb rocks. The falls were absolutely stunning. Levi was the most awesomest guide. He is native and shared historical information about some of the sights along the way. He was personable and spent time talking to everyone on the tour. This adventure is something everyone has to do at least once.
The confirmation email does note to pack a lunch which we did, but it really wasn't needed. Snacks and water were provided. I do recommend bringing your own refillable water bottle as it's humid in the jungle and you do sweat while both...
Read moreMy wife and I joined Kayak Adventures for the Secret Falls Tour on 10/24/24. Levi was an excellent guide – possibly the best we have ever had on an excursion. He was very engaged with good instructions and concerned everyone was safe and had a good time. He explained the history and culture very well and included some of his story as well which is also incredible. The location is easy to find. The drive and unloading / loading easy. The kayaking length was perfect and very enjoyable on the river. The hike length also perfect and time at the falls just enough to marvel at God’s creation, rest, eat lunch, and be ready for the trip back. A very affordable trip for all we experienced – would highly recommend both Kayak...
