Contrary to the food and the reviews of others, i have to say we received a grim service from the staff. We were staying within the premise of Koloa landing hotel and the staff seemed to carry a morose, discontented look on their faces. We sat ourselves down at a table and waited for almost half an hour before i insisted someone to take orders. After which, the person took another 10 minutes trying to find out who is delegated to the table. The lady who eventually came had the most unprofessional, non welcoming body language. The staff was extremely unfriendly, not wanting to offer good service as if it were a chore. If someone isn’t happy with their job, they either mustn’t carry on with it or else take it up with the managers. Why give guests a raw deal as we have paid to expect a perfect service and comforting stay. Shame to say, that based on all my travels tp date the hospitality one gets in the Asian regions is by far unparalleled. I feel extensive hospitality training should be given to hotel and restaurant staff to raise the bar manifold by learning from the management across Indian ocean hospitality industry. The value one gets for their money at such places is remarkably superior. Staff be it room service, concierge, reception or house keeping; each will go out of their way to make your stay a memorable experience. A smile on faces is a primary requisite. Not happy with job?? Then quit it!! Room cleaning itself is such an...
Read moreThe atmosphere here is really good. They have live music on Mondays-Fridays from 6-8pm, I believe. Breakfast here is really good, from the 3 stack pancakes to the French toast to the avocado toast and not to mention the burrito. For lunch they have this amazing holo holo burger which comes with a tomato jam and I know that sounds weird but I'll tell you I thought it was weird until I tried it and I tell you that tomato jam just elevates everything it sends your taste bud off on a different vacation. You also have to try the ribs, which are very flavorful. You can't forget about dissert they have an amazing holo holo pie that has macadamia nuts and banana in it. Also, their lava cake is good it's served warm, and the Brookie stacker is also good. I will definitely be dining here again. The food and everything is so good that I forgot about the service. Service here is really fast, the moment you sit you are greeted with your server and you should ask your server what is fun to do on the island if your lost and not sure of some things, asking a local person can be very helpful in adding to your lists that you...
Read moreWe had 4 dining experiences here in the few days we stayed at the resort and loved every one of them. Dinner x2, takeout lunch by the pool, and takeout happy hour by the pool.
This restaurant should have a better rating - we ate at many other restaurants in the area with better ratings but loved Holoholo the most, even chose to stay on site for our last night’s dinner.
All of the food is delicious, the staff is super friendly, they have an amazingly talented guitar player and singer a few nights a week, and they make it easy to dine with them. Given that they are the only restaurant at the resort they could jack up prices or force you to order from a waitress/waiter when sitting at the pool but they don’t. The prices are reasonable for the area and if you want to do takeout instead of order from the waitstaff walking around the pool you’re welcome to. All takeout we ordered was ready quickly and dining in was a wonderful experience too.
Worth coming to from outside the resort as well. Highly recommend!
The Mac nut crusted brie was something I haven’t seen on any other menu and...
