UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW BELOW!!...... Since my last post, I contacted the Galveston County Health Department so that an investigation could be launched...LO AND BEHOLD, it turns out that the temperature of the coolers at this restaurant WERE NOT COOL ENOUGH!!!! I HAVE ATTACHED THE REPORT BELOW, as it is public information.
You guys, please think twice before eating here! Thank God I was not an elderly person or a baby! People have lost their lives over negligent food preparation. This is absolutely disgusting...and the flippant/non-compassionate/dismissive attitude of the managers is atrocious. On top of that when I contacted corporate, they assured me that a refund would be issued....well long story short I had to contact my bank to settle the situation...(so pay no mind to their insincere response to my post on this review). Clearly they didn't mean it! This place is a joke but serious illness is certainly not!
Please be careful Peace and love!
I SPENT A DAY AT THE ER AND 3 MORE DAYS CONFINED TO MY TOILET!!!
SICK AS A DOG....HAD TO GO TO ER !!! Yesterday 5/11/22 at around 1pm my mother and I visited the Kemah Boardwalk location. I had the fried shrimp with a cup of gumbo (shrimp and sausage). Exactly 12 hours later around 1am I was vomiting uncontrollably, had severe explosive diarrhea and stomach cramping that made me feel like jumping on a bed nails for relief! I had to go to the ER and received Zofran, promethazine, Tylenol, and Lactated Ringer's for fluid replacement. I had a fever of 101.5 with severe body aches! I've never been so miserable in my life. On top of that it took forever for our food to come! (Now I wish I'd left altogether). Mind you it was no where near crowded this time of day on a Wed afternoon, so I can't tell you what took so long. Our server's name was Patty. I called the next day after leaving the ER to speak with a manager about the situation. I spoke with Kimberly and she immediately became defensive and said "well its def not food poisoning because that usually doesn't happen until 3 days later". The nerve of these people! Why would you immediately jump to food poisoning? Sounds like they have been through this before! Furthermore, the onset of sickness depends on the type of bacteria you have. Only a doctor (licensed/degreed/healthcare provider) can speak on disease and illness, NOT food service managers! This so-called manager Kimberly should have just apologized and forwarded my complaint. That is the first rule of good customer service. But I guess customer service has gone out the window at this place. I contacted corporate myself and waiting to hear back now. I will update my review and post again once the issue is resolved/investigated. In the meantime, if anyone else was sick that day...
Read moreWe went to Landry’s on Labor Day and surprisingly it was not packed. The receptionist said there was a 20-minute wait so this was when I realized that my husband was actually a Landry’s member, so I excitedly reminded him to mention that since I read that one of the perks of being a member is skipping the line (but there was also no line and maybe because it was at 4:30 PM?). The male receptionist nonchalantly asked for the phone number and didn’t say anything back afterwards. While waiting, another customer came and asked the receptionist if they had fried fish. The receptionist said “yes” but asked the customer again if it was raw or cooked fish she was referring to. The customer who was obviously struggling to speak in English had a hard time responding so the receptionist called his co-worker. The customer politely responded with “fish” and the 2 receptionists looked at each other and laughed. First off, if someone says, “fried fish”, common sense should tell you it’s cooked fish. I didn’t understand the need to verify if it was cooked or uncooked. Imagine having difficulty communicating in English and being laughed at in return. I hope Landry’s will train their receptionists how to handle customers better instead of being outright rude. By the way, we had to wait 20 minutes which is normally ok whether you’re a member or not if it’s a busy time. But it was just so disappointing to walk to our table 20 minutes later and see so many empty tables around, after witnessing the receptionists being disrespectful to another customer. If it wasn’t for the waiter who was very attentive, I would not even rate 2 stars for the service. Pls promote your waiter and replace your receptionists (or...

Landry’s in Kemah delivers a solid seafood experience, combining classic Gulf Coast flavors with a scenic waterfront atmosphere. It’s a reliable spot for fresh seafood, well-executed Southern dishes, and a laid-back yet refined dining setting.
What We Ordered
Seafood Gumbo The gumbo had a deep, rich roux, giving it a bold, slightly smoky flavor. The consistency leaned toward the thicker side, with plenty of shredded crab and seafood throughout. Served with a well-formed mound of white rice and garnished with chives, it had all the elements of a comforting, classic gumbo.
Charbroiled Oysters The oysters were served sizzling in a metal dish, topped with a buttery garlic-Parmesan crust. The cheese and breadcrumbs added a nice texture, while the fresh grilled bread was perfect for soaking up the extra buttery sauce. A solid execution of a Louisiana favorite, these oysters had a good balance of brininess and richness.

Landry’s in Kemah offers a great location with a waterfront view, making it a strong choice for a relaxed meal with a coastal feel. The service was attentive, and the dishes came out well-paced. It’s a great spot for both casual lunches and special occasions.
