How this place has 5 stars is beyond belief, maybe itâs based just on the ice cream but for sure not the service. I just came from there. There was a lady working behind the counter. I was greeted with a friendly smile but then it went down hill rather quickly. I asked for a scoop of Bailey ice cream since it was on their menu board. I was told that that the baileys Ice cream was only sold in pints, ok, no problem. I then asked for a scoop of key lime and a scoop of salted Carmel on a cone. I was then told that I could not mix flavors on a cone, why? Are we not in the guest service Industry? I said ok, one scoop of salted Carmel on a cone and then 1 scoop of key lime in a cup and I will put it together myself. I was then told that I cloud not get that. What??? Iâm paying for it then I should be able to get what I want. The lady working there said no. I was very confused. Why could I not place 2 different orders. So my wife ordered a salted Carmel scoop on a cone and then I ordered the key lime scoop in a cup. She said $16 dollars. My reply was whatever , I just wanted my ice cream and go home. I put the scoop of key lime on top of the salted Carmel and the cone myself. The lady had the nerve to show me the screen after I paid with my CC asking if I wanted to leave tip đł. Itâs a shame because I live right down the street but me and my family will not ever go back there. Too much âNOâsâ in a simple ice cream shop, an...
Read moreMy husband found this place on the internet , and we were in the area and ready for a little treat. Several things looked good when I asked for a sample , I was told I could only have 1. Ok , she gave me this tiny cup , but no tiny spoon ( as most places) , she said, just squeeze it. It was good, so without being able to taste the other one, I was interested in I chose the cantelope ice. I did not pay attention when she gave me the sample , but when I looked over ,she was dishing into a bowl and had LATEX gloves on , I asked if she had scooped mine , and she had, well just take off gloves , wash your hands and scoop mine please. Oh no , I can't state health code . Well , she is the ONLY one in over 10 years , I mean, sooooo many places , we eat out every day. Fine, refund me , please . I was so mad I went out to my truck. Yes, there are rules , but I have never had any business say no. Also, when I took pictures ( for my review) , she told me not to post , as " The Chef" changed flavors daily!! Really?? How can you have any favorites? I CAN see some changes , but everything?? The chef did come out and just said sorry. I told him vinyl gloves were cheaper anyway. He did say they would look into it. So , will I go back next time in the area?? I'm not sure. I liked the flavors offered , but will they be the same ( any of them?)? And I don't think they adhere to...
Read moreThe sweetest little ice cream shop- was my first thought. I knew there had to be some really good ice cream made here. The nautically designed shop was clean and so pretty; it had ample seating inside and out and the smells of cream and sugar wafted right to us the moment we opened the door. The place is owned by a sweet couple who warmly greeted us and showed us their menus and options. We chose the Banana cream pie ice cream in a cup. Granted we just stuffed ourselves with pizza, we figured sharing a cup of ice cream on the way home would be ok. I paid a few more dollars than I normally would for ice cream, but after eating one spoonful- I forgot what I even paid! This was certainly handcrafted and freshly made by the kind chef and owner. My husband and I thought he must have just made banana cream pie and froze it. It was so delicious, creamy, sweet enough and had the texture of frozen yogurt. Chefâs kiss!! We highly recommend if you want to enjoy well made desserts that you wonât find in a grocery store, because they couldnât come close to Exotic Ice Cream. *I was NOT paid or asked for my review. Simply an honest experience by a happy customer. God bless you guys and your...
