Last week I tried setting up a triple date night with a long time friend I haven't seen in a while and a family member. We'll my friend couldn't make it cause they were packing to go on vacation and the family member, we'll I'm never heard from them. So me and my sweetie had date night last night at T-Bone Tom's Steak House. Back in 1993, I witnessed a horrific accident in La Porte, a pick up truck rear-end 3 cars around 50 mph without hitting his brakes. The woman and her daughter was hurt pretty bad. The woman asked me to call her husband if i could. In 1993 this was when cell phones just came out and had roaming charges. At the accident I call her husband Tom. While waiting for her husband to arrive at the accident, I learned her husband owned this steak house. I saw this place numerous times before this accident as I went by it several times a week while driving trucks. I said I always wanted to go and check it out. I never did. 32 years later, last night, I took my sweetie, soon to be Vickie Johnson on date nite to this steak house. I'ma tell'n you, T-Bone Tom's Steak House did not disappoint. The portions where HUGE. Look at the size of the cheese sticks. Vickie had fried mushrooms for an appetizer. I told her don't eat all of them you wont eat your dinner. It was so much food, Vickie and I had 2 full meals left over for another day. The service good and the food was FANTASTIC. Our server offered us dessert on the house cause they felt it took to long for our food to come out. Vickie Johnson and I never noticed, we were enjoying our time together but when they offered free Key Lime Pie, fat boy here was NOT gonna argue about this. With all this and 3 adults beverages that were GREAT, tax title drive out for the experience was $140.00. Now some people may say that was expensive but to me this day and age and to have 2 extra meals to take home and the nice atmosphere this place offered, it wasn't bad at all for me. They offer dine indoor or outdoor dinning 🍽. They have a band outdoor 6 nights 🌙 a week. Last night 🌙 Vickie chose to dine indoor due to the heat 🥵 outside. If anyone lives in Houston or passing through, I highly recommend 👌 checking ✔️ this...
Read moreAfter a day at the Space Center Houston, we stopped by T-Bone Tom’s in Kemah for dinner. A close friend of ours that used to live in this area recommended T-Bone Tom’s to us. There was no wait, and we were seated right away. As soon as you walk in, you can tell this place has been here for a while (the menu said “since 1974”) and there’s a really good vibe to the place. Our server, Amy, was awesome! She was friendly and attentive. Since it was our first time here, we had questions about the menu and Amy helped us pick our entrees. She made it a very enjoyable dining experience!
We started with the Fried Mushrooms, which comes with house-made ranch dressing. This is a large portion of breaded, deep-fried mushrooms and it was good. The ranch dressing was great. For our main courses, we got the regular portion Chicken Fried Steak (gravy on the side) with onion rings and corn and the T-Bone Steak with a side salad and fries. The CFS was lightly breaded and very tender. We tried it with both white gravy (shown in the photo) and brown gravy. I liked it with the more traditional white gravy, but my wife liked it with the brown gravy. Just ask, they’ll bring out both for you to try! This was really good CFS, and I can see why it is one of their bestsellers. The fried onion rings were very good (with more of the ranch dressing!) and the corn was also good. With our appetizer, the regular sized portion was perfect….my wife would not have been able to finish the large portion! I ordered the T-Bone steak medium rare, and initially it was a little rarer than I liked. But the manager came around to our table to ask how our food was, and he was happy to take it back and throw it on the grill for a few more minutes. The manager brought it back out to make sure it was exactly how I liked it, and it was perfect. This was a nice piece of meat that had great flavor. The fries were really good also.
We had a great meal at T-Bone Tom’s. I highly recommend that you put it on your list of...
Read moreI just love impromptu invitations (came spontaneously from former colleagues from 2008-2009)! Always a way to discover new places, sights and sounds!
Arrived very early at T-Bone Tom's and decided to take plenty of pictures. The ones posted are from the front and do not include venue and bar area. Saving that for another day 😁. They schedule live music 6 nights of the week, but the ladies wanted to talk. No music on Monday nights.
Upon entering the restaurant was greeted by Steven, manager, a nice young man. However, my friends hadn't called, yet, for seating arrangements. He waited patiently for me to make a quick call and then had me seated to wait for my party. I loved it because I was really very early!!! It also gave me time to look at the menu and soak in some of the atmosphere 😋. Have short clip to give you an idea of it! Paige, our server for the evening, was at the table before I knew it. Beside the food, she made the evening even better with her smile and excellent service! I didn't want to just sit there, so I ordered a decaf, which they freshly brewed for me! I started off with the Vegas Shrimp Cocktail. By the time I finished, the rest of the party had arrived. We ordered the Tiki Smash from the drink menu. It was so refreshing and light, it can be very dangerous! All of the dishes were tantalizing! A very hard choice! Since Armadillo Eggs and Shark Eggs come four to a plate, Paige said she could do a half order each. Just loved that! The eggs are basically battered jalapenos filled with a seafood combination (shark) and pulled BBQ (armadillo), deep fried. The bite is in the batter!!! After enjoying these specialty "eggs", there wasn't any room left to order their bread pudding. Next time around!!! If you are traveling and visit the Kemah Boardwalk area, pin Tom's as a definite must try!!! You'll be...
