This place is close to my workplace. So i ordered food delivery at lunch today. I also ordered food delivery couple of times before today. The order was 2 lunch specials for 2 persons, shrimp-vegetables with shrimp fried rice, with the side order or spring roll & egg-drop soup. I asked if the fried rice or spring roll have pork in it because we don't eat pork. She confirmed it do not have pork in it. I asked her to repeat the order, but she didn't even let me finish & hanged up the phone. I thought It's busy hour, so she is in rush. Anyways, i said i don't eat pork, so it should be fine. But when i received the food, i found the soup was pork dumpling soup. I called her back to inform if they mixed up the order with someone else. But the lady started to behave roughly with me from the very beginning. She said i asked about pork in the fried rice & spring roll, but didn’t say anything about soup. I asked, didn't i say i don't eat pork? She said, yes, but again, i didn't clearly say about soup cannot have pork! So it was my fault & she cannot do anything. Saying that she put the phone aside & started to talk with someone else. I was astonished with her rough behaviour. I waited for a while, but she continued talking with others. So i hanged up & called back again, to say, it was not my fault as i ordered egg-drop soup & she sent pork dumpling soup & they are not the same. So how it was not her fault?& she cannot behave like this with a customer, i told her calmly. She again behaved bad with me & screamed she will send someone later, & hanged up the phone without letting me complete my words. Such unprofessional & rough behavior. I don't know how she is continuing the business with such unprofessional behavior. I will never order from here (Mekong Chinese 2) again. The food (shrimp & fried rice) was okay. But the behavior was not acceptable at all. & No, they didn't change the soup either in last 4 hours, though the place is just 6/7 minutes away from my workplace. I don't want that soup, she can have it all. But definitely they lost a customer today. Very very disappointed. I wish i could give it...
Read moreThis is just a take out place so atmosphere really doesn't count. The lady who tended to me was very nice. However, the food, unfortunately was not so good. In their defense there is no good chinese take-out in the area. I'm always on the hunt and was disappointed this didn't work out. This was my 1st time ordering. 1 item on my order was incorrect. I ordered curry beef patties and got very sweet inedible beef teriyaki sticks. A $4 upcharge from what I really wanted. When you order take-out you rely on the order to be correct. By the time I got home it would have been a half hour at least round trip to correct. The sweetness seems to permeate throughout the menu. I also ordered Singapore Noodles (one of my favorite dishes) which are typically spicy. While it was spicy there is an off-putting underlying sweetness in the noodles making them inedible as well. I also ordered the mixed soup and it was so gelatinous and not much flavor so not something I wanted to eat. Unfortunately I'm tossing $30 of food since it's inedible and/or way too sweet when it shouldn't be. I had high hopes for this take-out place, but was once again disappointed. It sure would be nice to have some good chinese take-out...
Read moreVisiting Miami and stumbled into this place while hungry for Chinese food. With the name I actually expected to see Vietnamese food or influence but surprisingly it is authentic Americanized Chinese food. I had fried rice, shrimp broccoli, cashew chicken, and beef lo-men. I got enough and good size but most importantly, fresh tasting shrimps and crispy and green broccolis. The sliced beef in lo-men is tender and lo-men cooked just right to my taste. For a Taiwanese living in Southern California, it is certainly a pleasant surprise. It is the best tasting Chinese food I've had in Miami so far, and most fairly priced. It is not overly greasy, salty or starchy. If anything, I would request lower salt as personal preference. I am happy with Mekong II and will come...
