My experience at this restaurant was not good at all and I would suggest going somewhere else. There were 2 of us and we ordered the 1.5lb lobster. You need to crack yourself and we did not want to do that so we asked the server to ask the kitchen if they would do that for us. She came back and said yes, for a $2.00 charge. We were delighted about this. When she brought us our meals, there was definitely not 1.5 lbs of lobster on my plate. It looked like the amount you would put in a small salad. I also know that the lobster meat was not from a fresh lobster. I believe it was lobster that they had laying around to add to salads, etc.... I noticed a man who ordered the whole lobster and cracked himself and you should have seen the delicious fresh lobster meat he had. Our was not that. The server never came to check on us once during our meal to see if everything was to our liking. She was behind the bar and we were forgotten. I realize I could have gotten up and said something to her however I find over the last 1.5 years since COVID, I do not have the energy anymore for confrontations so I let it go. I know...shame on me for that. Also keep in mind, this is the first time I had dined inside in a restaurant in 1.5 years and it was quite a disappointment. A different server brought us our check and I wrote a note on the check about our experience and we paid our bill and left. We were completely ripped off paying $49.00+ per person for a meal that was not even worth half of that. Take my advice and go somewhere else, there are plenty of other restaurants....the Boathouse, the Burleigh at the Kennebunkport Inn, the Clam Shack and Allison's. I should have known not to go to this place because as I was asking around town where we should dine, not one person mentioned this place. My mistake...I saw they had lobster on their menu so we decided to try it. This place...
Read moreOn our first visit to Maine, my daughter and I dined at Arundel and had an incredible experience, thanks in large part to our outstanding server, Jesse. From the moment we were greeted by the sweet and kind hostess, we felt completely welcomed.
Jesse brought a warm, professional presence and a charming Southern drawl that made the experience even more enjoyable. He was attentive, personable, and made us feel like we’d been regulars for years. At one point, he even called over another server, Rhonda, who was an absolute delight with a fun and vibrant personality.
The food was exceptional. My daughter had the calamari and clam chowder, both of which were flavorful and perfectly prepared. I ordered the Mediterranean shrimp scampi, and it was outstanding!! The sun-dried tomatoes, capers, and Kalamata olives gave it a sweet and tangy flavor that was absolutely delicious. My Painkiller cocktail was also fantastic! It was smooth, well balanced, and refreshing. We ended the meal with a rich lava cake that was the perfect finishing touch.
The prices were unbelievably reasonable especially considering the quality of the food, service, and the stunning scenery surrounding the restaurant. It was truly a perfect blend of atmosphere and value.
From the food to the service, everything about this experience was truly five-star. Jesse, in particular, made the night memorable, and we’ll absolutely...
Read moreFirst your bar tender isn’t old enough. Then he overcharged us and stood by it. The margarita is $14 plus $2 for flavor. In my math that is $16.. one each is $32. I asked the guy how he came to $38? He got mad. Paid it and let it be. Then we waited 45-50 minutes. He put all the alcohol in one because mine had zero. The waitress was a snot! The older one who should retire because there’s a story. No clams and we don’t sell scallops. Huh. That’s all we came for but ok I got a lazy lobster and my husband the fish and chip. I didn’t appreciate her and the boy in the corner blah blah blah then look at us. Hmm I left her a 10% tip and she shouldn’t have gotten any. She chased me out and told me not to come back. Umm FIRED!!! The the little girl at the desk wouldn’t give me a supervisor and I told her what she said then she got huffy with us because you failed? What happened to the customer is always right? I’m 57 and live here. This is my first and last stop there. Then the drink boy chased us to the parking lot for questioning his math. Immm...
