What wasn't wrong?? Let me start this by saying that Dilma was very sweet. But that's literally the only thing that was good about this bar. We initially sat in the dining area. They had 1 server running around to take care of everyone. So as you can imagine, she was short with the people she did speak to. She wasn't short with us because... she never spoke to us! Literally ignored us like we weren't there. No hello, no "I'll be right with you", nothing! which was disrespectful to me because she was serving people sitting directly across from us. So we move to the bar with 3 bartenders on duty. The menu was a struggle to read, to which one bartender said "they're all like that baby." When we ordered, we were told off top it was a 25 minute wait for food (industry standard is 12 minutes) but we were waiting on a delayed flight so we waited. Halfway through the wait, Dilma very politely let me know that there was no rice for the gumbo. I was hungry and had already been waiting so I just took it. I should have just left at the point. The gumbo broth was so so but it had huge pieces of unseasoned meat that weren't good at all. My partnered ordered the butterfly shrimp that came with a sauce that I wouldn't even serve to an enemy at war. That sauce was DISGUSTING! Quite possibly one of the worst things I've ever tasted, no exaggerating! I mean terrible. The lady next to me concurred and asked for some ranch, to which they gave her a packet of Ken's ranch. 𤣠By all means, if you are at MSY airport in New Orleans, avoid this place like the plague. It really is a poor example of what NOLA truly is. It's obvious to me this place either needs new management or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen twice (November 9th and 10th). First time, bar tender barely acknowledged myself or my Dad, who was with me, told us we were next, then proceeded to ignore us for 10 minutes while taking other peopleās orders solely because we were just taking 1 drink togo.
2nd time was today, November 10th. Bartender (a different one) was rude as she took our order, mocking/rushing us while we were looking behind us to see if there were any open seats, then gave us attitude when we chose to get the drinks togo as there were no open seats.
Then, we came back today, November 10th, at around 4:45pm, to get another drink, however we had food from somewhere down the hall with us. Despite the intent to order more drinks, after already ordering two drinks, the waitress (a 3rd employee) was incredibly rude, yelling about outside food without even considering that we may be intending in being customers there. Evdn if you have that policy, there is a way to go about it, and that was not the correct way.
It seems to be something systematic here. I have no intentions of returning as they donāt seem to have the intentions of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOk, you're at an airport, so the rules of the outside world do not apply. You think "I missed my chance to go to the Roosevelt Hotel and get a Sazerac". Well, the owners of the hotel have no more involvement in this airport bar than Emeril Lagasse does in the place with his name at MSY. Those folks are crying on a stack of money from licensing the name.
How are the Sazeracs at MSY? Ok, not horrible, not great. They have some rye, some sugar, some bitters. Hard to mess that up. The service is slow and spotty because the servers don't work for the name that is on the door--they work for Delaware North or Sodexo. They don't care if your experience is subpar because they have you at their advantage.
Anyway, safe travels and enjoy your...
