I had one last attempt at visiting Cafe Du Monde before departing MSY Airport, since I did not get the chance to visit the iconic French Quarter location. I had a solid hour before my flight back to Chicago, so I figured why not. This location is conveniently located in the main concourse at the entrance to Concourse B which is right outside of TSA.
For the love of mocha! I ordered a medium cafe mocha w/ an order of beignets which were three per order. I kid you not, there was enough powder in that bag of beignets that would have made "Pookie" from the movie New Jack City lose his God dang mind.
I savored each moment in-between eating each beignet, and while taking sips of my cafe mocha with a smirk on my face from the initial bite to the last. And yes, both were delicious! So delicious that I nearly considered re-visiting before my flight just so I could pick up another order of beignets.
I had a pleasant ordering experience at this Cafe Du Monde location. As like I, if you did not make it out to the French Quarter location, I recommend visiting prior to your departure. I would gladly order from again during any of my ventures to New...
Read moreUnfortunately the first time ever to have had an employee or better yet the manger himself being as rude as this manger was on Saturday October 4th, for no reason. I ordered 10 orders to go with no sugar or they can put the sugar on the side if they have to, I also asked a simple question if i can get one order flat( basically pressed down), he got upset and said we don't do that rudely. I mentioned there Clearview location does it, I understand if I have to wait on the side for a fresh batch to be made, I don't mind the wait. He became angry and said you are lucky we are allowing you to buy 9 orders without sugar, but if my employee wants to do the work who cares. His name tag was facing his shirt instead of clients, so I asked for his first name after his ridiculous way of talking and being rude, he become more upset and refused to give me his name and started saying, you don't need to know my name , who are you? Are you my daddy? Sad to say it seems like now days no one wants to work and businesses having to hire anyone to help them operate it. Their food and coffee doesn't deserve a bad review but their manger...
Read moreThe beignets came 3 to an order. Two were so hard that those were inedible…room temperature and very thin and dry. Those were disgusting. The one left was more like one expects beignets to be…softer and puffy. I asked for extra powdered sugar, which I’ve never had a problem getting handled properly since I used to eat there every time that I went to the airport…no longer! It was dumped into the bottom of the bag instead of on top of the beignets. The bag was so small with the cold beignets on top, it was impossible to get any of the extra sugar or shake it and send powdered sugar everywhere. I left the change of a $5 bill for the tip, but no tip was deserved. Never again will I give this location business. One look at those hard, greasy, over-cooked, stale, room-temperature beignets, they had to know that those were a rip-off, even at that price. I just wanted some fresh, soft beignets, like I’ve almost always received, but got cold bricks instead with barely any sugar on those. The sugar was wasted by dumping it into the bottom of the bag. Yuck! They obviously have no respect for what they served me and I was...
