Ordered the breakfast plate (Biscuit, scrambled eggs, gravy) on my first time in a Martin's location today. They got my drink wrong, which wasn't a good sign. We went to go sit down, which there were many tables that hadn't been wiped down, which was another not good sign. When I finally got my food, the biscuit was pre buttered with an excessive amount, as in it was dripping when I held up the biscuit, and the scrambled eggs I got were cold, like they had been pre made and then just sat out for who knows how long. When I went up to the counter to let the woman working at cashier to get it corrected, she was on her phone and I had to raise my voice a bit to get her attention. When she told the line cooks in the back that they were cold, there was some loud back and forth of 'Oh the scrambled eggs? They were cold? They were cold eggs?' for a half minute or so. I was only eating here because my friend suggested it.
When I got the food back a few minutes later, the eggs were nice and hot, but the rest of the food had cooled down... so I didn't get to enjoy a nice hot breakfast plate like I was hoping. So I had a room temp aggressively buttered biscuit, hot scrambled eggs, and luke warm gravy. I hate dealing with people so I just ate it because I was eating my first meal of the day at about 1pm-ish, give or take 15 minutes.
The last thing though that made sure I wasn't going to be coming back here? On my way out I saw their health rating. They had an 85 (b) rating. On the paper it said they had issues in serving food at the proper temp, among other issues, so if I would have seen that first I wouldn't have even eaten there. Which by the way, their health rating it on the wall by their bathrooms and isn't one of the first things you see when you get in there.
Even if a manager sees this, I will not be coming back no matter what is said. You...
Read moreFirst I want to state that I had to give one star to speak my mind. I would give a negative star if possible maybe two! This martins restaurant is night and day from any other location! My family and I eat at martins at least one a week sometimes twice. And have never had an experience like I had today!! I was rushed from the time I walked up until I paid then everything moved to slow motion except for the attitude! I was told three times to move away from the counter so couldn't watch them make my food. Why should that be an issue? Then they made my order wrong and argued with me about it. They re maid my order and wouldn't give me my drink until I showed them a receipt they never gave me. When I explained they all looked dumbfounded and looked at each other as is if I were robbing the place! Btw let me back up, this started at the drive thru when we ordered and asked to have our cheese melted and the talking head blew a gasket because the noise she exhaled was as if we interrupted here personal time. So I decided to go in and discovered it was even worse than drivethru. So anyway back to the counter and my large drink, the manager finally came over and said to just give him a drink so we can move on! When I got in the truck I told my wife the story and she decided to call the location. Someone answered the phone and then when my wife asked for the manger they hung up the phone on her. She called back and the fax answered automatically. We love Martins and enjoy them weekly, however the kennesaw location needs to be evaluated by corporate. Everyone in there had there mouth hanging open and moves as if injected with Thorazine! Manager was the typical fast food slum lord!!! Just look up the past inspections from health dept. and take a peek at those numbers!! Avoid this location if possible...
Read more4-Stars out of principle, as no where is perfect. That being said, I had been on the edge of my car seat, waiting since the 'Coming Soon' sign went up. I've loved Martin's since day 1 at Cobb Parkway and the thought of having one in my hometown of Canton had most definitely floated my boat. Everything I've had at every Martin's I've been to had been great my new location on HWY5 is not the exception.
Pros - I can buy a handful of Chili Slaw Dogs at 600 in the morning when I grab my breakfast on days I don't feel like packing a lunch for work. I can buy Biscuits & Gravy at 1600 on days it's cold and I want Firsties for Lasties.
Cons - Seems to be a bit frugal as far as napkins go. If you don't ask for extra you only get 1 napkin per meal, if you do ask for extra napkins it's usually just the One extra. This is a problem for me most mornings as their portions are amazingly sized & I usually get the Biscuits & Gravy for some extra mess. I would really like to receive an amount of napkins proportionate to the larger sizes of great meals provided at Martin's. This peeve seems to be universal, as well, as it's become a running joke in the carpool; "Holy (Poop) they threw like seven napkins in the bag, poor girl is gonna get fired! " Makes me wonder if that's just protocol across stores, 1 napkin per meal.
I love Martin's, thank you so much for opening a location in my town! I recommend this food to everyone and their neighbors, seriously...
