Let talk about the restaurant it self: Even though this place looked a little shabby I wanted to give them a try due to their reviews. I've noticed a few things right away, dusty trims and they used dirty wood pallets covered with funky smelly cushions to seat their customers! I chose to seat on their regular chair cause we're not seating in those funky, dirty cushions that everyone has been sitting on. The tables looked and felt icky and the chairs looked dirty and icky...I didn't wanted to touch anything in there to be honest.
Bathroom is so tiny, it's impossible to move around comfortably and I'm a slim Chick.
Let's talk about the food: Appetizers: We ordered skewered chicken and Nam tok. They were both good.
Entrée: We ordered Drunken noodles and Green curry with chicken. The drunken noodles came out very soggy. The server girl tried to justify by saying something that made absolutely no sense like "it was tossed in the sauce so its like that". Ummmm...no girl, we know soggy noodles when I see soggy noodles. We knew it right away when the dish came out. The proper way to cook those type of noodles for the dish would be to undercook the noodles since it has to be tossed and cooked again in a wok with the meats and veggies and the sauce so the noodles doesn't get over cooked to avoid the noodles getting soggy. Instead, we switched to the Thai fries rice. When the fried rice game out, my husband took his very first bite and we noticed a GREY HAIR!!! WE WERE DISGUSTED!! We took the plate with the grey hair to tell them about it but they looked at it like they were all confused and examed it trying to figure out what it was...REALLY??? IT'S A DAMN HAIR!!! and they had some nerve to say "we don't know where it came from..". My husband is bald and I have jet black hair so we told them that it didn't come from us. I actually saw a older male coming out of the kitchen with short grey/black hair without any hair net!!!
The green curry was ok but they were cheap with the chicken.
We got our ticket and it's not that we were expecting any type discount but damn it offer it after getting 2 dishes that they messed up and finding a hair in our food!!! And they charged us $1.50 for cabbage that comes with Nam tuk but I asked for more since they only gave us tiny 3 pieces! Most thai Restaurant that serves Nam tok gives a good amount of cabbage to eat with the beef.
Instead of offering any discount for nasty soggy noodles and then to find a HAIR in our food they wanna be petty to charge for the cabbage...GOT SOME NERVES! They took it off after we've mentioned about the fee and it wasn't written on their menu. We will not eat here again, just not a good experience and to be honest, it felt...
Read moreIt is with a heavy heart that I write this but after last night I decided I will not be returning. Long story, I have been coming here 1-2 times a week for 6 years. I live in Rome but my husband works in Kennesaw so you can imagine any time I’m in the area I either get lunch or dinner or to go because it’s been my favorite Thai place around and have two in Rome. My experience has always been great I even had my bridal shower here and the owners get my husband and I gifts at Christmas… yes we come that much, we even joked when I was pregnant this summer that my baby would come out loving red curry. However my several visits have been terrible. My husband and I went and dined in a few months ago. I was very heavily pregnant and had to sit outside in the heat while our server who was overwhelmed hardly came by to refill our waters. Then our food came out wrong. Next attempt was a to go order. I called it in while sitting in the parking lot planing to take it back to Rome with me. They told me it would be 1.5 hours. They had just opened 5 mins before I had been sitting in the parking lot waiting for the open sign to come on. When I explained I was already in the parking lot they told me that if I didn’t get that papaya salad it would be faster so I changed my order and I waited 30 mins. Then came last night… I just had my baby on July 4th so I haven’t been down to Kennesaw in a month I was very excited to get my favorite Thai place again and bring my baby in to meet everyone. We had already been out for several hours and in an attempt to get home sooner I called to place a to go order. I had to call 3 times to not have to leave s voicemail. When the lady that usually cooks for us finally answered I was excited, but she quickly told me it would be over an hour and half to do our order, this before she even knew what we wanted and without even waiting for a reply she hung up. I’m heartbroken truly, I know times are tough for restaurants but this many bad experiences have forced my hand and I will not return. I hope they find new management of help whatever the problem is has ruined a special spot...
Read moreIF YOU WANT TO ACTUALLY TASTE THE FOOD DO NOT ORDER ANY SPICE IN THIS RESTAURANT!
I've eaten Thai food all over the country so I have experience to back me up.
I placed an order for take out. Very nice person took my order. When I ordered Pad Thai Chicken he didn't ask me how many stars so I asked him to tell me how many stars they offer. 1 to 5. Okay.. how spicy is each star? This is what he said verbatim, "No spice, regular spice, thai spicy and the others are beyond thai spicy." So I normally eat 3 or 4 stars spicy (and a thai person usually says thai spice is beyond 5 stars.) This time I ordered regular spicy and added that I don't want the spicy to overpower the flavors of the food.
I was ravenous so thought I'd take a bite (or two) before I pulled out hehe. Holy hell. I spit it back into the container. Remember, now, I have eaten Thai food all across the nation. Thank the goddess I had not one, but two, 32 ounce containers of water in the car. Gads! $10.00 bucks down the drain... I had thought about going back in to order Pad Thai without spice because I need it so badly right now, but didn't.
Along with the Pad Thai I ordered a couple of fresh rolls and must say that according to their fresh rolls they know what they are doing. Fresh lettuce, nice crispy carrot, cuke and perfectly cooked shrimp with the perfect amount of basil to set it off. They know how to roll their rice wrappers, too! Hooray! The peanut sauce however is not up to my standard. It was basically crunchy peanut butter with honey mixed in (I make it all the time at home for PBJs so I know..)
I will go back to give them one more try but wanted to post the review so newbies to this restaurant will order no spice the first go round.
Gah I can't believe how spicy they made their food and it's not even the hottest on their list. 2 hours later and I have blisters across my lips and my tongue...
