Definitely worth the visit! Delicious menu; friendly and fast service; extremely reasonable prices for the quantity and quality. One of the few places you can get a latte and pastry for under $10 (as of 4/2025)! Bread loaves and pastries are delicious but full meals are also served. Has a neat, clean, and thoughtful atmosphere that really makes the most out of a small footprint. There are tables, a couch, children's play kitchen and toys and books inside. About 4 tables outdoors. If planning a gathering of more than 4 people on the weekend, highly recommend arriving early to secure seating because it gets busy quickly in the morning/brunch hours. Can comfortably accommodate 8 people if not busy. The Kenneth City park is right next to the restaurant though so if the weather is nice, you can easily take your to-go order to the park picnic tables or benches to enjoy.
Areas for improvement: Latte art depends on the barista and is not standard. Would be nice if it was. However, taste just as good without the art! Improve sensible AC in summer time with either improving AC flow or getting better seals for windows/doors for insulation because it can get very warm in the summer.
Accommodating ADA Needs: Pets are not permitted in the restaurant by law but service animals are welcome by law. NOTE: Staff are not allowed to ask if an accompanying animal is a service animal by law so please notify them as you come in that you have a service animal.
Definitely ADA compliant. Be aware that if dining room is full and the order/to-go line is long, maneuvering through with a wheelchair could be tight. But staff would be willing to assist with making a space if needed. Bathroom is located in the back of the building (separate from main interior area) and requires a key from the establishment to use. Bathroom is...
Read moreIt sucks to write a review like this for a small business. My hope is that the owner will take to heart my experience and be able to make changes because having a German bakery in this area of St. Pete is truly a blessing and I applaud them for going out on a limb and creating one. Very clean interior. Friendly staff. The issue was the quality of the product. The poppy seed strudel was rancid. Poppy seed contains oils that do not lend well to heating and then storing. Once you’ve baked the strudel, you can’t keep it hanging around for more than a day or so. It tasted old and bitter. Inedible. The cherry pastry was Walmartish. It is common to use a canned or jarred cherry in these, but there is also a big difference in the quality of those products. Trash in = trash out. Pretzel was spot on. Nice and crunchy and soft inside. Cheese strudel was underbaked with raw layers of puff pastry. When you make strudels containing Topfen/Quark it is really important to let the cheese drain through a cloth to remove as much moisture as possible. Veggie and egg pastry was flavorless. No one bothered to season the eggs and there was basically on strip of green pepper in the thing. I wanted so much to love this place and I can’t say I did. It is clear that this is a product issue in a place run by good people who need to focus more attention on training the back of the house and developing/adhering to better rotation process. I won’t give up on this place but I feel like others could if they don’t feel the value is...
Read moreWow! What an incredibly amazing place! We ordered the Jägerschnitzel with spätzle (pork cutlet with german noodles) & added red cabbage as a side; their cheese pastry, nutella chocolate pastry, käsespätzle (german Mac n cheese), cappuccino and German cold coffee. The Jägerschnitzel had a delicious calm mushroom gravy. The breading tasted like it must have been fried in fresh butter it was so good! The red cabbage was on point and added a delight to the meal. Biting into the cheese pastry reminded me of a creamy Krispy Kreme donut right out of the oven when it's first soft and hot. The nutella pastry was a bundle of delightfully chocolate-flaky goodness. The cappuccino had a smooth darkness to it with all the foam you could want complimenting it with a gentle sweetness. They added a packet of natural cane sugar for me since I like my coffee a little sweet. The German cold coffee is the way to go if you need your sweet tooth fixed with a tasteful scoop of vanilla bean ice cream flavoring the bold smooth coffee. And all the ambiance you could ever want or desire in a cafe/diner. The calm music was inviting, there is a spot to chill and enjoy your coffee as you relax on the couch or your Littles can enjoy the kid's kitchen toy in the corner. Such a great place and I couldn't have had a more enjoyable lunch! We have been to many many german restaurants and I am also quite particular when it comes to pastries and this had the best of both worlds. Best german food I've had yet with so much...
