In case you are quickly scanning reviews while deciding where to go for dinner; DON’T GO HERE. Ok, now that its is out of the way, and apparently you are committed to reading this, let me tell you the tale of my dinner at Fiesta Mexican on Gage. We entered with somewhat high hopes, it was 6pm on a Saturday after all. I ran in ahead of our group of 10 to see how long the wait was. They said it would take about 20 minutes to get seated. I looked around and asked what if we sat at two booths? They said they could see us immediately. So, in comes the whole party, grumpy after a trip to the mall that took much longer than anyone had wanted. We sit down and get our drink orders taken, both my wife and mother-in-law order alcohol, while the rest of us ordered soda or water. I am sitting at one booth, while my in-laws are at the next. My in-laws get their drinks, including the alcohol. Then our drinks come, minus the alcohol, which follows shortly after. After a little while they come take our order. Then we wait… After about 30 minutes the wait staff come and inform us that our food is next, after the party of over 50 who are sitting in the banquet room are served. So, we continue to wait, during one of the several chip refills my wife asks for a glass of water. It is now 6:35, and our food has yet to show up. The wait staff again approaches and stay that the large party took more time than they expected, so our food should be ready in about 10 minutes. 15 minutes later, part of the order comes out, while my food, my mother-in-law’s food, my sister-in-law’s food and the two kids’ cheeseburgers are still missing. Of course, I expected at least two trips in a party that size, I am not unreasonable. At about 6:55, one on the wait staff comes out of the kitchen with more of our food, but not all, and approaches my in-laws table. When they see the food on the table they turn and walk back to the kitchen door, having to be guided to our table by the other wait staff. At that point, we had everything but my mother-in-law’s food and the two kids’ cheeseburgers. Around 7:10, the kids’ cheeseburgers arrive, and they inform my mother-in-law that they messed up her order and it would be another 20 minutes before her food arrives. She askes for the manager, who eventually comes and sees my wife and I, as we are the ones who indicated we would be paying. He apologizes but tries to play it off like “I was back there managing the kitchen when I heard it was behind”. While he may have, he must not be very good at it as we watched several other parties of around 10 get their food promptly. This is the point where my mother-in-law, now frustrated and hungry, gets up and exits the restaurant. My wife, who is been waiting for the rest of her family to get their food determines that her food is now cold, and she has not interest in eating it. At that point the wait staff approaches with the check and asks if we need boxes. We do, because half of us just got our food. When my wife informs the wait staff that she would not be eating her now cold food and requests it taken off the bill, the wait staff states with some attitude that the manager will take care of it. Upon her return the check is presented and it is in order. SO I pay and leave with my hungry and frustrated wife and mother-in-law. Oh and there was a hair found in one of our parties food. In a town with more Mexican restaurants they one cares to count, I would not recommend this one, the menu is limited, the kitchen staff are flustered easily, and the manager couldn’t lead then out of a paper bag. If you are looking for high quality Mexican food in the area, go further down Gage to Inca. I have been eating at this family owned chain for most of my life and have never had a bad experience, no matter what we have...
Read moreWe had a wedding on September 14th. This was our ground beef and “fajita steak” I called yesterday to speak with Teresa the catering manager about the possibility of the meat being undercooked, without seeing the photos or addressing my concerns she informed me that after the meat sits for a while the steam can give it this red hue? Umm what? Or it could be because they cook it in a red sauce. Ma’am…would you like to see the photos because there isn’t a single way. I did email Isidro and her both after informing her I no longer wanted to deal with her. The lack of professional and lack of communication with the vendor from the beginning has been inexcusable. I did call the health department. They will be investigating further. If these steam issues and red sauce is used why are these not discussed prior to contracts being signed because I would have never been okay with feeding this to my guests. To top it all off…the information of who of the families had been notified was misconstrued and my MIL had not been notified. Instead of trying to make this right in anyway shape or form. My MIL sent her an email inquiring about how to leave a tip prior to talking to me or my husband about what happened. Without discussing any issues with the food, etc. She was more than happy to send the payment link to take yet more...
Read moreI ordered a lunch dish, chicken with cream sauce. First few bites were fantastic. Then I saw an odd piece of wire on top of the meal. I pointed it out to the waiter. He said " what do you want? Discount? New plate? Talk to the manager?" I said "I need to let you know. I think you should tell someone." He left and came by the table a few times. I'd stopped eating. I finally inquired about the wire issue. He said he could give a small "discount, 10% or something like that." I was surprised, and said "ok, whatever." Then he brought me a box for the remainder of the meal, 80% of it. And then he brought the bill with 10% Off. A different person came by to pick up my payment, and I asked if he was the manager. He said "yes." I asked if he was told about the wire, he said "yes." Then proceeded to tell me this happens frequently with their dishwasher because of the scrubbers that scrub the cooking pans. I said that's a safety hazard that could cause harm and/or injury. And asked if I had swallowed any of it. I didn't think so. I got up to walk out after paying, and left my boxed food on the table. They called out that I'd left my food. I said I didn't want it. After speaking with the manager, I was concerned there was more wire, than what I'd seen. 10% Off, and no assurance that this was a rare occurrence....
