Lucky House — Restaurant in Kent

I’ve already reported this place to the health department, but I also felt the need to share my experience here.

Before eating, I poured some vinegar onto my plate, six dead bugs floated to the surface! Not one, but six! Absolutely disgusting! I’m pregnant, and looking back I have no idea why we risked potential food poisoning by staying. If I hadn’t been starving and the server hadn’t parked the dim sum cart right in front of us asking what we wanted, we probably would have left immediately. Pregnancy brain really slowed my decision-making…

When we showed the bugs to the server and asked for a new bottle of vinegar, she casually grabbed one from a recently vacated table. I asked if it was a fresh bottle, and she simply said“They just used this”as if that somehow made it acceptable…I had to open that greasy bottle myself to check, and by that point, I’ve already lost my appetite.

Then came the food, barely warm, the chicken feet had strong unpleasant odor, the shu mai and shrimp dumpling wrappers were soggy, and the radish pancake and buns were overly dry. Nothing really tasted fresh.

And the service, you shouldn’t have any expectations. When I asked for a takeout box, the server pushed a cart in front of me and walked away, leaving the boxes on the lowest shelf. How was I supposed to bend down that far to grab a box from ankle level as an eight-month pregnant woman, she didn’t even offer to help.

To make things worse, when we tried to give them feedback, the server waved me off and had the audacity to say don’t come back, It’s hard to believe every single staff in this restaurant could be so aggressive unapologetic and rude.

So stay away...

I had a worse experience with the service. After I’m done eating with my kids and I was gonna go pay up at the register but the lady that works in there came to me and asked me if I’m ready to pay and I said oh yes then I gave her my debit card with the receipt in there and a few minutes later she brought my card and the receipt back without saying anything so I left and drove out then there was one lady chased me and I didn’t see her but my daughter saw her then I slow down the car and rolled down my window and say yes what’s up ? And she asked me did I pay ? And I was like what u mean by that ? So I turned around and went back the the restaurant and asked the young man in there what u mean by did I pay ? I told him the lady took my card and bring it to the register and a few minutes later she brought it back to me without saying a word so I thought she already charge my card ? Then there was a young idiot girl said to me there was no card in there and I was like yes it was I gave her my card and she took it and gave it back to me a few minutes later . And tell me what’s that mean I didn’t pay for ur food ? Come on I’m not that cheap. They didn’t even say sorry to me . And there was another lady said oh u paid but u just didn’t sigh . I was like then why didn’t u said so ? But it seem that u said I didn’t pay cuz u didn’t see my card in there . And I can’t believe she has a gut to ask me for tips 😂. I was gonna give tips but since they treat me like this...

• we returned for Dim Sum this weekend and it was the first time we had had cart service in years. It was a fully enjoyable experience and we will be back. The Siu Mai Dumplings are excellent but my favorite is the sticky rice and steamed black bean spareribs. My husband really enjoyed the steamed bean curd roll and the deep fried shrimp dumpling. We tried a lot of items but there's so many more to come back for.

We ordered take out from here tonight for the first time and I'm really glad we did. Excellent customer service from the gentleman that took our order over the phone and then helped us when we arrived. We'll definitely be coming back for Dim Sum service. We ordered the house special chow mein with crispy noodles, Bok choy with garlic sauce, sweet and sour pork, tofu stuffed with shrimp, Siu Mai dumplings and sesame balls. I really appreciate when a place knows how to pack their food for takeout and everything stays hot and crispy. The house Chow Mein was really good but the garlic sauce on the Bok Choy was amazing and we spooned some of the sauce on the noodles too. The sweet and sour pork had a lot of nice big pieces and the batter wasn't too thick or gooey inside. The S&S sauce has zip which I really enjoy. The dumplings are huge and really tasty, you can always tell good Dim Sum by the Siu Mai and these were pretty good. Sesame balls were ok but they're my favorite and I will eat them no matter what.
