This is simply a great bar! It's unlike most any other bar in the area in design and content. What they've created is basically an indoor open concept which feels more like an outdoor venue for to its layout. Remnants of shipping containers are used for the walls of some of the tables, prep, and service areas, as well as the overhanging "escape pod" which is basically a small contained seating area with a balcony. Great design, and anyone should be able to find a place for comfortable conversation, large groups, or just a nice seat at the bar. Service is by a single bar for drinks and a single food window which reminds me of an indoor food truck. This is a beer bar. The beers at the time of review were all brewed in house. There's a focus on IPAs and sours. The food is a mix of grill and fried items with some healthier options also. Drinks and food were great. You will get a proper glass depending on your beer here. Food is prepared with care and generously seasoned. For the price, atmosphere, and level of service, both the drinks and food were excellent. My only critique is that my steak wasn't served with a steak knife which was sorely needed. Barely something to complain about when everything else is so on-point. I'd recommend this place for any casual gathering, be it with friends, coworkers, or family. Great atmosphere, extremely friendly service, good pricing and options. I'll be back!

This past weekend was the second visit to Broad Leaf for my wife and I. The reason I am giving 4-Stars is because the first experience a couple weeks ago was not very good. We stopped in to grab a drink and some food before a movie. They were pretty busy so We sat at the bar and were greeted and served drinks real fast. The bartender said he was going to come back to grab our food order once we had a chance to look at the menu. He did not come back for 20+ mins and at that point we needed to leave to get to our movie and still grab some quick food. Fast forward to this visit, completely different experience. They weren’t very busy, but we sat ourselves and ordered some drinks from the bar. We also started with the Fried Rice Balls, which, phenomenal! Super wicked flavor! Give them a try! For meals my wife chose the Joe Mein with Chicken and I went with the Veggie Fried Rice with Chicken. Both had awesome flavor and large portions. I was very impressed with the food. We usually enjoy a smaller menu like Broad Leaf offers. It makes the meal choice easier and food is usually perfected! Definitely give them a try!

My fiance picked this spot to try something new, we had a table of 7, had great reviews so we may have had high expectations, unfortunately service was very slow, I ordered the smash burger and it came out 5 minutes before the rest of my table, fries were hard and overcooked and cold, burger was sub par, nothing great but edable none the less, the staff was super nice! Atmosphere was really cool, very retro and nostalgic, however the prices of the food did not match the quality and the time we waited, the burger Patty's are pretty small, I feel like I paid $18 for a double cheeseburger the size of a McDonald's burger, and the fries were not enabled. My Daighter took two bites of her noodles and couldn't eat anymore, said the flavor was bad, everyone else's plates were nearly full of fries as well, the burgers went over ok, Unfortunately this place is probably a no for me in the future, it's unfortunate because we come in numbers and I always recommend to others when I find a good place to eat.

I recently visited Broad Leaf Brewery & Spirits in Kentwood for lunch and a beer with a friend. When we arrived, the place was mostly empty, so we went straight to the bar to order.

The food was just okay—nothing special that would make me want to come back for it. The same goes for the beer: decent but not memorable enough to warrant a return visit.

What really stood out, unfortunately, was the poor service. When we wanted a second round of beers, we had to wait in a long line—about 20 minutes—just to order. When I finally got to the front, I was told to move to the other line because the bartender needed to serve food elsewhere. This meant starting the wait all over again.

The experience was frustrating and took away from what should have been a relaxing time catching up with a friend. Standing in line for such a long time just to get a beer is unacceptable, especially when the place wasn’t even busy.

Overall, there was nothing impressive about Broad Leaf Brewery—neither the food nor the beer stood out, and the service was inconvenient and poorly managed. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for...

We were super excited to check this place out as our buddies band was headlining there playing some great music last Saturday evening and we also LOVE pickleball so I reserved a PB court for two hours. We showed up early to play but were unable to get any food or drinks because they have no servers a long line and not enough bartender to service the one service/checkout station at the corner of the bar. It was absolutely ridiculous. Everyone was standing around frustrated and complaining to one another about how poor of a set up it was and how much money they were losing. Our group of four actually left, went to BJ’s and spent over $300 on food and drinks and then came back to listen to our friend’s band… Because of this we we’re only able to catch the last two songs. After not getting served before playing pickle ball… Then playing for two hours, we were starving and thirsty and just couldn’t stand to wait any longer so we left. SO disappointing. Seemed to be a very poorly run establishment… They literally were losing money handover fist. I doubt we’ll ever come back after that experience…So please...
