THE LOOP RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Kernersville

We decided to have a late lunch/early dinner pizza around 3pm as we were doing a lot of cooking the next day for Thanksgiving. We decided to go to the “The Loop Restaurant” in Kernersville, as we had never tried it before. Worse experience, won’t be back again!! Customer Service:

1. “The guy” who took our order was sullen, non-communicative, and acted like he wanted to be somewhere else.
2. My dining partner accidently spilled her drink on the table. She explained at the counter and asked for a cup to clean-up the mess. They gave that cup and then a rag for her to do the clean-up, when it is the restaurant’s responsibility to do the clean-up and not the diner. She did the work that the restaurant employees should have done and she wasn’t paid!!
3. I asked “the guy” for the restaurant manager. “He’s out.” Told “the guy” that patrons should not be clean-up staff and we were unhappy with the experience. No response.
4. I went to get a to-go box. “The guy” was away from the counter and talking with other employees (he’s tall and I could see top of his head over a partition). I waited. I saw cook staff look at each other, then in “the guy’s” direction; a cook came forward and gave me the box.

Pizza Quality:

1. We ordered the 12” “Special.” Should be called the “Worse.”
2. Skimpy, skimpy toppings! Two slices had nothing only bell pepper and mushrooms. Pepperoni? Paper-thin, one or two (if lucky!) per slice. Sausage? Need to look close to find. Cheap, cheap!! cheap!!
3. Crust wimpy. Picked up slices and the toppings (which were few) slid off. What the heck?? Crust under-done.

This pizza is not worth the price!!!!

We know that Sixty-Six Grill and Tap House has a far, far superior pizza for a couple of dollars more, and its full service, not a do-it-yourself fast-food joint where diners are expected to clean-up their spills. We were planning to go there, but decided to try The...

Being from Winston, I had never heard of this place. I am glad I got to come here because it’s definitely worth the drive. Located in a strip mall with ample parking, you immediately see the ample outdoor seating and people enjoying their meals. Then you walk inside and the place is huge. Lots of tables and booths in a very warm inviting atmosphere. The colors are soft and the wall art makes it almost look like an art gallery. They have a great menu with salads, pizzas and burgers. Even though I am on a diet, their Mushroom Swiss Cheese Burger was speaking to me. With fresh lettuce and a thick tomato slice, melted Swiss and hot sautéed mushrooms, my burger was a perfect medium and every bite made me feel like I was at someone’s backyard BBQ getting a burger fresh off the grill. It’s a decent size with a sesame seed bun. I chose the homemade rosemary chips with Cesar as my side. They were crispy potato chips with great flavor. I also got the soup of the day which was the minestrone……..Mama Mia….I should have gotten a bowl instead of a cup! I was taken back to my buddy’s Italian home when his mom used to make this soup for us! I swear I thought she was back in that kitchen somewhere. This place is great for solo, couples or groups. If they put the same love they did making my burger as they do the rest of their menu, then you are in for a treat! Don't often review a restaurant, but I hope to share information that will help other patrons. 2 stars for a few reasons: As some others have mentioned, some of the staff seem unhappy/disinterested in being there/helping customers. I ordered a salad with grilled salmon - the salmon was the saddest piece of grilled fish I have ever seen (for $7.50), looked very discolored, dry and extreme fish smell. I asked to switch the salmon for chicken. Employee seemed offended that I asked and annoyed when she had to explain to me that there are different types of chicken and "which one did I want?!" It took over 10 minutes to cook a very tiny piece of grilled chicken. Suggestion: Being in customer service myself, you can never go overboard with kindness. Staff, be pleasant, smile even if we can't see it, try to look and act like you care a little.

Positive, the salad itself and dressing was very good, and employee did refund me for the salmon without much hassle.

It sounds like you have a better chance of enjoying this place if you stick with the pizza and wings and don't care so much about difficult employees/service. First time and last time...
