This is not my preferred lunch spot in Kerrville but a lot of my friends prefer it, so I eat here at least a few days a month. My two biggest issues, are trivial, really. But here goes. First, if you ask them to add bacon to one their many sandwich varieties you will get bacon crumbles instead (the same thing they use on their potatoes). Bacon crumbles are difficult to eat on a sandwich. I have open the sandwich and put bacon back on to eat it. Slices are just better. The second issue, this issue is not so trivial, is portion size. I enjoy menus that offer something for people like myself who have small appetites. I either have split an oder with someone else or order the half sandwich but Bum's halfs are still so big that I can not ever finish it. I end up either taking it home as leftovers or just throwing it out. I hate wasting food but I really hate a stinky car from my leftovers that sat in my hot car while I ran my errands. Yuck. The moral of this review is BYOSB (bring your own sliced bacon) ABC (always bring company...to share your orders) and oh yeah if you're still hungry remember P.I.E.S. Bumdoodlers PIE IS...

The food overall is good. We had the Yankee Sandwich. The bread was soft and delicious. The pastrami was really good and had nice flavored. The onions on the sandwich were cut thin and were perfect. The lettuce was not great. Some was vibrant and lucious green and some was yellow and looked not great. I scraped it off. The sandwich could us another layer of meat, but for the very reasonable price I understand the reasoning behind the amount of meat. In fairness, you can probably get extra meat added. The sandwich came with a tasty pickle spear and a sufficient helping of chips.

We also got the bacon and cheese bake potato. Good size quality potato and all of it was delicious, but the bacon had moments of hard to chew. I'm not sure if it was the cut or over cooking etc, but that was the only bad part. Which can easily be corrected or just a bad batch of fresh bacon.

We had the cheesecake and chocolate pie. We love the cheesecake. The chocolate pie was ok, but nothing special.

Overall the place is clean, friendly and plenty of seating for the size of this location.

We will definitely be coming back for more good eats in...
