Big John's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Key West

I RARELY write reviews, but this time I feel I must. I am a full time KW local and have been eating at BigJohn's, both at the restaurant and delivery, for years. It seems that there has been a slow but steady decline in the quality, consistency, and flavor of the food, as well as the ingredients. Also, I know KW is a tough place to find good help, but the last 6-7 times I have ordered delivery, the person on the other end of the line has been outright rude as if I am somehow bothering them. No greetings of any kind on either end of the conversation and literally they spit out the total and simply hang up. As for the food, my last order was the Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo dinner and a cannoli. The salad was brown & wilted, the pasta was horribly over done, the shrimp were like rubber, and the cannoli was stale and seemed as though it was very old. I am saddened by this, but I think my Big John's days are over....

To the owner, after reading your responses to other bad reviews, I assume you would say to address this with you right away, but honestly after last nights' experience, I am hesitant to contact the restaurant directly because after the rudeness of the counter girl while placing my order, I can only imagine the response I would get to a complaint. I'll probably give you guys another shot down the road a ways to see if things have improved because I too am a small business owner and I like to support local, but for now...

Same as the persons review above mine reads. Don't know if they have new management in there but I ordered $50 worth of food, only to get a pizza with barely any toppings on it. I immediately called after opening the box. They answered the phone "HOLD" then laid the phone down. I watched my phone until I'd been listening to them for 5 minutes then I hung up, called back and the kid answered the phone and said hold, I said no. I explained that I just held for 5 minutes, he said they were short staffed. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited 5 more minutes. When he returned to the call, I explained that there were virtually no toppings on my meatlovers pizza. They told me to take a picture of the pizza then text it to them. They replied, "That's how it looks". I said that I'd ordered numerous times from them and that it's always been great but this one wasn't. They offered to give me a small discount first then after a out 10 text messages back and forth they offered me a small pizza. What a joke. I've been in F&B management for over 35 years and have never been treated like a chump like this. When I told them, I didn't want a small pizza because I ordered a large pizza, they told me that if I didn't want the small pizza that they wouldn't send it. Way to lose business in a time when building new customers is crucial!!! I hope I spark a bunch more to stay away from this place. Loved it but won't support bad...

Key West local for many years here to give my review on my latest visit to big John's We ordered the eggplant parm dinner and the chicken parm, I have a lot of comments but I will start with the good: portion was big! Will definitely fill you up. Now the not-so-good: No host/hostess, we came in a family of four with a baby and needed a high chair which we had to look for ourselves after we seated ourselves... -for the first timers on here you need to know that Big John's does not have table service , you order and pay at the counter , no receipt either.. lady just punched in numbers on a calculator (yes, really) and told us the total (we did request a receipt afterwards and were given a hand-written list of the items we ordered) Side salad had literally two slices of cucumbers and two slices of tomatoes laid down on a big pile of leafy greens, not a big fan if I must say Garlic knots were hard as rock Honestly, for the same price we paid we could've gone anywhere in Key West and got better service and food Two stars for portion of...
