Irish Kevin's — Restaurant in Key West

Irish Kevin’s Key West 4-30-25 Stopped by Irish Kevins on a Wednesday afternoon about 3pm. This place was not that full, but they did have someone on stage singing which is some of the reason we stopped by. I wanted a Reuben which had Corn Beef, Sauerkraut, Swiss Cheese, Thousand Island Dressing on a Toasted Rye. I got a side of Coleslaw to go with it. My friend got a Burger and all the works on it and a side of Fries. We sat at the bar and our ordered came out in a reasonable time. My Reuben was amazing, it was so good. Even the Coleslaw was terrific. This order came with a large pickle spear even that was good. My friends Burger and Fries were very good. All our food was hot and very tasty. The only thing we did not care for was the entertainer on the stage. The guy singing sang a bunch of filthy songs. I figured as talented as he seemed he did not need to do that. Today I was at Irish Kevin’s in Key West, I heard so much about Irish Kevin’s the real person. I went early this St Patrick’s day so excited to hopefully meet him, i imagined him as a totally different person then who was on stage this straight prestige person only to see an ordinary guy. I worked my way through a lot of people I just wanted to say Hi . I wanted to shake his hand and tell him I heard so much about him. I was just trying to complement him when he pointed at me saying “ what I said I like to tell you something his reply to me a patron that just spent enormous amount of money “I’m to busy” he was sitting on his ass playing a guitar that’s too busy for a patron!!!! He should be a shame of himself ! I will never go back! I think is rude and as an Irishman embarrassment! I will never spend nor go back! Other places that would be much nicer!!! I’m a senior & Walked in the music & atmosphere was great. It’s very loud & that was kewl. Hard to hear the bartender but I ordered a drink & paid female bartender & tipped her. Then I put my empty can in front of my glass full of my beverage & a male bartender asked me i”f this was empty” I said yes. Next thing I know there’s another can in front of me and I looked perplexed. Then he grabbed it and threw it in the garbage. All pissed off and I looked at him and said well I would’ve taken it had you asked me if I needed a drink and then he got all pissy and then he walked over the female bartender swelled his hands up and down and telling the story and then the female bartender got all pissy with me so I finished my drink and I left, friends and neighbors. There are plenty of bars on Duval Street and Irish Kevins is a great place for music and atmosphere but if the bartenders are going to be pissy like that, then I don’t wanna spend my money there anymore...
