So my wife booked the afternoon snorkel and kayak and home at sunset. 330 to 8pm ish on the Danger, we got in a little after 830pm due to navigating around low water.

Captain Joe and hands Jack and Rocky....did not disappoint. I will say...full moon tomorrow and low tide...DANG it was low....and the worked harder and more time to get us the trip they promised. So don't fret low tide, they get it done either way, just a little more navigation effort.

I have to say, I felt a little uncomfortable being waited on so much...just not used to it. The crew was constantly checking on everyone, for water, or adult drinks. They had fresh fruit out before we went snorkeling for the ride.....and on the way back after kayaking humus and chips. They feel like guys we'd be friends with, and not used to having friends wait on us hand and foot, ha.

The ride out, always amazes me how much they know and tell you about the habitat...and mid sentence Jack would say "Oh, and there's a large Sea Turtle" We'd all ooh and ahh...and right back into the history of the park. So cool, and well done. My kids, even older, just amazed to see those turtles.

I'm a certified diver and dove all over the world, and the snorkeling was still fun. My wife and daughter aren't used to it, and they were patient with them and everyone on the boat. Rocky went farther off the boat to see more of the coral and sea life...and my son (in the Army Infantry but loves water ha) was with him and saw it all.

The Kayaking, a couple wanted to go all the way back and get their camera, and the guides were patient and went with for safety, all good. Again, with low tide there was navigating to be done, but they got us in on the island, and a tunnel area of deeper water...again they spotted a sea turtle for us. My daughter and I in our Kayak got a great view. I would recommend Polarized Glasses, you absolutely need them to see through the glare on the water in my opinion.

The ride back was awesome, great music and adult drinks for the older....and the sunset, as you can see, was perfect. Got one pic with Captain Joe too, ha.

Just have to say thanks, and if you're looking for a great outing on the water, this group is...

I visited in July of 2023 with my husband, and we dream about how amazing this trip was. I cannot remember the names of our captain and crew member, but the man who was the captain took us to the reef area that he found and anchored there. Along the way, the crew member who was the lady pointed out different wildlife and talked a bit about the history of Key West. The lady was a marine biologist so when we got in the water to go snorkeling, she could point out different fish and wildlife species! She also led our kayaking tour through the mangrove and her extensive knowledge of the wildlife and plants made the trip feel like I was in a National Geographic television program. The boat itself was great because it was mostly shaded and had a great middle area to keep your stuff from getting wet.

They provided all the materials you need. However, if you have to wear thick prescription glasses, you can have your doctor fit that prescription into a snorkeling mask and bring that with you separately so you can see better.

There were plenty of snack offered and they had water jugs to refill our water jugs that we brought. Highly recommend you bring cream coral-safe sunscreen lotion (bc the spray is so bad for the coral), water shorts, a large floppy hat for the kayaking, sun glasses with a floaty string to keep them together, and a fishing shirt or spf-swimming shirt. You can probably buy all of those items at the pier where the danger charters takes off, but they are just as easy to pack if you haven’t left for Key West yet. It is imperative that you reapply and REMEMBER THAT THE SUN REFLECTS OFF THE WATER EVEN WHEN YOU ARE IN THE SHADE. This is a long ride and MUCH more enjoyable if you don’t get burned. We were the only couple from Texas or any state in the southern half of the US and the only guests to not get burned. Remember that when you snorkel, you are basically floating face down in the water so your whole back is exposed.

At the very end, they had a freshwater hose to clean off the saltwater from our clothes and shoes.

You should plan the rest of your Key West itinerary around this experience. I cannot say more good things and I cannot wait to return for...

DEFINITELY BOOK! I did the full day sail with snorkeling and kayaking. It was smaller groups and more intimate, not like the other companies that take huge groups. We had 6 people on mine but I don’t think they take more than 20 at a time so it doesn’t feel like it’s just a tourist trap but really is a vacation excursion. The crew was amazing. They were so personable and extremely knowledgeable. Captains Logan and Sage had great command of the ship despite the very strong winds that kept almost every other vessel docked (and trips cancelled) that day. They brought us to the perfect calm place for us to snorkel to see tons of fish, lobster, sponge, and coral without having to fight a current to swim. First mates Anna and Cloud not only did terrific in raising sails and preparing kayaks but they also served a delicious lunch, morning snack, afternoon snack, and dessert. They kept all the drinks flowing and making sure everyone was having a great time. Leading the kayak expedition through archer key, Anna and Cloud also found the perfect little nooks to go into to find wildlife and really get a feel for the amazing ecosystem that makes us the refuge. I couldn’t recommend this trip enough!! It was a fantastic way to explore, especially for the price! You won’t be able to find anything with this level of quality...
