Good News vs Bad News. We got the 16" pepperoni pizza for 1st time, it was the best we've had on the outer banks. Expect $25. There is a $2 coupon in the book, and pay cash for additional discount. Highly recommend. This is owned by Miller's restaurant. Bad News: We went back to try the hot wings, advertised as a lb. Not hot and only 6 in order. Not impressed. We split 8" cheese steak sub with onion. Comes w/ L, T, M. Who puts raw onion on a cheesesteak sub? The meat was rectangular shaped steakum. Disappointing. Bread was very good. French fries were ordered extra crispy with a side of hot sauce but instead were soggy and limp with 3 packets of ketsup. Yuck. Fed to seagulls. Ice cream: i believe ice cream in made in house. Served in a cup. Interesting flavors like rum raisen and coffee. Butter pecan had pecan halfs so there weren't pieces with each bite. I personally would have preferred pieces to enjoy more crunch and nut flavor. They have a separate outdoor pickup/ take out window to avoid congestion inside. Get the 🍕 pizza ! The best on...
Read moreWe visited a few restaurants on a Tuesday evening in Outer Banks, mile post 9ish, in search of take out dinner for our family of 8. We were denied that large of a take out order, or any take out for that matter. In fact, many restaurants are closed in Kill Devil Hills on Monday-Wednesday. Not only did American Pie accommodate us, they were timely and pleasant. I believe they are affiliated with Miller's restaurant, which has been a family favorite for years, but we haven't confirmed this. We placed a large order, at a prime time and only waited the 25 minutes they quoted us (or less) and everything was delicious. We had a Margarita pizza, my favorite. Supreme, hubby's fave. Pepperoni & Onion which was tasty. The Greek salad was fabulous. Shrimp & Chicken tender basket with ff. The shrimp were seasoned great, with lemon extra yummy. My daughter gave the plain wings a thumbs up and I enjoyed the homemade Bleu cheese dressing. All in all, we were happy to stumble on the location. Easily accessible in KDH on beach road, next to...
Read moreWas staying at the Ramada right across the street so thought I'd give them a try.. First night at 9:00pm there was a family ahead of me ordering and two or three people behind the counter.. Nobody cared to take my order, they'd rather me wait until the family of six each decided what they wanted which was taking FOREVER so I left empty handed.. Second night I stopped by at 9:30pm and wanted to order sandwiches and a pizza and was told the kitchen was closed even though you could see people working in the kitchen..They do not have their hours posted on the door and if you check their website, no hours posted there either, just a reference to being closed for the season and reopening in April.. I was here May 26th and 27th.. My thoughts are if you are going to be in business start with the basics first, post hours of operation and don't have an "open" sign up unless you're really "open"...
