We tried to go to Pickle Barrel Nightclub after we were done with a Spartan Race. Their sign said they open at 8pm for the after party. Sounded fun! We arrived there at 7:58 and knew there was a chance they wouldn't be open yet. The doors were open to get inside and the downstairs doors were also open. We went inside and asked if they were available to get us drinks and an appetizer. The guy said they were not ready and told us to go wait up at the top of the stairs until they were ready. OK...Not a big deal, it wasn't exactly 8:00 yet. We went upstairs and waited....and waited...and waited. An employee walked upstairs and didn't say anything to us...waited some more...a group of 8 walked in after us and tried to go in with the same luck as us. It was maybe 8:08 at this point....continued to wait...another employee walked in and looked at us and said "Oh...I thought I was late to work, apparently I'm early!". This seemed like the attitude and the atmosphere it would have been for the entire night. Waited some more...and a little more...the group who came in after us ended up leaving and we stayed until 8:20 when we gave up and went to Charity's Tavern up the street, and I'm glad I did. I don't think I would have had a nice time if we would have ended up staying based on the sour taste they gave us in the beginning. Extremely disappointed in the staff who worked there who didn't even come up to apologize for the wait or offer us anything while we waited. To have to wait an additional 20 minutes after they say they will be open is ridiculous. Seemed overall like very poor management and they obviously didn't care about missing out on service and unfortunately gave themselves a bad review from myself having a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: Christopher Karr (owner? manager?) took our comments to heart, and suspended the driver who made us feel unsafe (see original review below). He invested in security cameras for the vans so that everyone can feel at ease using their shuttle service. We are very grateful for the prompt action taken by the Pickle Barrel and we believe these were appropriate and necessary next steps. He was very professional and took the time to investigate our claims rationally and responsibly. Thank you!
SHUTTLE IS UNSAFE. They advertise having a safe ride home, which is the only reason we came here, but we had a very unsafe experience. A man followed us all evening, but it was a large, packed venue and we originally didn't think much of it. The 10 of us got in a shuttle and our follower motioned or said something to the driver outside and then joined us in the front seat. He watched two vans depart moments before. It was clear he chose our van intentionally. We insisted that this made us uncomfortable and the driver said we should get out if we were "too good" to ride with other people. We didnāt want a van to ourselves, we just wanted to get home safely.
If your plan is to offer a safe ride home for your patrons, the very least the drivers can do is stop creepy guys from trying to come home with young girls uninvited. The second van drove us home safely, and we are very appreciative, but he said that driver was often erratic and aggressive. So clearly this was not a one-off incident. Girls beware.
We enjoyed our time in the venue. The bartenders were pleasant and the live music was great. If the shuttle service hadn't made us so uncomfortable, this would have been a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here after dinner Saturday night and was looking to just have a drink w my friend. It was 8pm and they have this strange thing where they kick everyone out at 830 to prep the place up again for the rest of the night. The place was packed and it really ruins the mood having to stop partyin while youre really getting into it. Anyways, if we were younger we probably would have been upset by it but we were only stayin for a drink.
I ordered 2 budlights and a shot of jameson and was looking for my credit card. Took a lil longer than usual when the bartender (older bald short stocky dude) starts yelling $22 dollars over and over again. Give my credit card. Put a $2 tip cuz of his assholeness and jus shrugged it off. Looked this morning and found a $29 charge instead.
Check your bills if you were served by this guy. You might have been overcharged. This guy was super aggressive and there was no crazy wait to get drinks so I didnt understand why he was barking at us. I never write reviews, good or bad, but finding this blatant fraud on my credit card this morning really prompted me to say something, not only for myself but for everyone else...
