Stay away! My 4 and 10 year old daughters had been asking for a Killington souvenir for the past couple of days, so we decided to stop by this store on our way back to the lodge. After about 10 minutes in the store a young woman in her 20s (who later introduced herself as Mallory) came over to my wife and asked her to return the magnet she had put in her pocket. My wife, caught completely off guard, just looked at her dumbfounded. After a couple of seconds we realized what was going on: we were being accused of shoplifting. I then asked the woman if she meant the $9 magnet that my 4 year old daughter had picked up as soon as we entered the store and that I was holding in my hands while we finished shopping. Upon realizing the mistake she had made, she started laughing hysterically and saying that she just wanted to help us by holding the magnet until we were ready to check out. I politely asked to speak with a manager to file a formal complaint about the wrongful shoplifting accusation, to which she replied saying she was the manager. I then asked for the owner's contact information, but she refused and offered a piece of paper for me to write a complaint that she would forward to him (I'm sure she would). I obviously refused, since that would be just a waste of time. She then offered to call the police, to which I promptly said yes, please do. At this point, she was shaking more than a thin piece of bamboo. She then realized she had no other recourse, but to ask us to leave and claim we were trespassing. She started yelling at us to kick us out of the store. All that in front of our 2 young girls. When we got to the lodge, my 4 year old said to me: “Daddy, that girl was really mean”. We drove all the way from Massachusetts to spend a fun family weekend in the Killington area, and unfortunately this experience left a very bitter taste in our mouths and we probably won’t be back to the area. On the bright side, I got to teach my girls a lesson about injustice and how I expect them to never act like that in their whole lives. For a town that depends solely on tourism, you'd expect store-front employees to have a minimum degree of training and preparation to deal with customers, which unfortunately doesn't seem to be...

Absolutely horrified with the experience my family just had at Killington shirt company, where we were shopping for souvenirs. I stopped in with my family (including 3 young sons) after my son was denied use of a bathroom-by an extremely rude and clearly very unhappy attendant we proceeded to leave the store. Upon leaving the store attendant followed us into the parking lot to let us know that there were cameras everywhere… as though my sons or I searching for a wooded area to use the bathroom would be somehow threatening… when we walked towards our car she stood at the front entrance in front of not only us but multiple other customers and many children and put up her middle finger. After remaining there and mouthing obscenities she walked away. I have never experienced actions such as those towards young family just trying enjoying their Vermont vacation. I would absolutely reccomend steering clear of this business as it’s owners and/or employees present possibly dangerous situations for its...

Upon checking out, I asked a question about the credit card surcharge and received an angry response from the young woman behind the counter "you're complaining to the wrong person!" I was not even complaining; on the contrary, as a small businessperson I understand the annoyance of credit card fees. However I also know that there are better rates available and was going to suggest looking for a different processor. Instead, the conversation quickly broke down into her being angry at me and me wishing I had not shopped there. There was some other complaint about removing a display item, which I thought my 10 yr old daughter had unknowingly done (it wasn't obvious to me even that it was on display) but my daughter had not even done so! Anyway, bad attitude and high credit card markup makes me never want to shop there again. There are better places for souvenirs. So unfortunate, since all my other customer experiences in the state of Vermont have been excellent! Maybe someone was...
