it honestly breaks my heart to have to write this, but after talking with some others who’ve tried this new spot over the past couple weeks, we’re all in agreement. it’s just awful. the chicken is soggy and has a strange smell, and the actual quality of the chicken feels subpar. the fries somehow managed to be both soggy and overcooked, and even the sauces taste straight out of a fred meyer bottle. the sides feel store bought too. nothing about it tastes homemade, special, or quality… in any sense.
this is in STARK contrast to bok a bok…. the previous tenants and a true 5 star chicken spot in the same location. now the bar was set very high, but i’d genuinely rather eat mcdonald’s than this.
unless they make serious changes, this place WILL NOT last. the competition in totem lake is all top tier, and this menu simply doesn’t compare. i’ll give it another shot in a couple months to see if they’ve improved, but if not, i don’t expect this restaurant to be...
Read moreGross and an awful experience. This use to be a different amd much better chicken spot, i did not know it had changed until i arrived. I got the 4 peice meal with fries bread and corn. The giy behind the counter did said hi but didnt look up from his phone and texted through my entire order never looking up. The chicken comes out and is completely and utterly unseasoned. Im talking literally just a flour coating. I dipped it in the house sauce which was solid but once i bite into it im fairly certain the chicken is undercooked. It is tough to chew and way too moist, not in the good way but just the raw way. The corn was fine but had a weird bitter flavor. Fries are fine. The lemonade and bread were good. Absolutely will never...
Read moreHen House in Kirkland absolutely nailed it. The tenders were perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. I’m super picky when it comes to chicken tenders, and this place exceeded my expectations. But what really won me over was the sauce menu, fun, creative, and packed with variety. For me, the sauces make or break a chicken tender spot, and Hen House nailed it. There were so many to try, and every one we tasted was spot on. Even my kids, who can be tough critics, were more than satisfied. It’s a family-friendly, welcoming space that feels like a real gem in the community. You can tell it's family-owned and run with care. We’ll definitely be back, this might just be our...
