Normally I'd give most any Taco Bell 3 stars, but tonight after patronizing this location, a rare event, I had a uniquely negative interaction with an employee. First though, it's very loud near the registers so I had to almost yell or repeat myself 3 times for the employee to get my order and name right. This was not helped by his blank, very disinterested demeanor. Once placed though, my order was ready before the first employee could even fumble over my change. From the employee setting my tray on the counter, I felt his boisterous, overly joyful attitude was sarcastic or mocking me, perhaps an inside joke with his coworkers. The food was as expected, worth neither compliments nor complaints. Which brings me to my primary reason for composing this comment. Sometimes when I walk by a restaurant's or coffee place's drive through, I grab some change off the ground if no cars are going through, it helps cover my bus fare, especially quarters. Usually it's just a few cents to maybe a dollar at best. Seeing the drive through empty as I left, I walked over to see what coins I might scavenge. After picking up two pennies and a nickel, some kid, maybe 20 years old, and probably a shift lead or weekend manager, opens the drive through window to say, "Excuse me, could you hand over those coins? They are the restaurant's property". I replied that aren't they just change customers dropped and are too lazy to get? He claimed that happened only sometimes and it was mostly change employees dropped and so belonged in the registers. I'd never heard something so ridiculous but let him have his precious 7 cents, which apparently is enough to purchase my bitter enmity, so I will go from being an infrequent customer to an absolute ghost. If you enjoy the slipshod efforts and arbitrary power trips of vapid millennials, welcome to Totem Lake Taco Bell. Otherwise, you have at least 5 other fast food drive through options within half a mile, as well as exponentially more of those lame places that make you have to get out of your car, walk inside, stand there and talk to another human being face to face then carry your food back out to your car, or even stranger, sit and eat at a booth or table rather than a cramped, poorly lit and ventilated...
Read moreI normally don’t leave reviews, but my experience at this location was upsetting enough that I felt the need to share.
From the beginning, the service was poor. The team member who took my order sounded rushed and was noticeably rude. I ordered two Nacho Fries, but when I got to the window and checked my order, I noticed I only received one. I politely informed them of the mistake, explaining that I ordered two, but they had only charged me for one. Instead of correcting the issue, they told me I would need to go around the drive-thru again to reorder. This wasn’t my mistake it was theirs and I shouldn’t have been inconvenienced because of it.
Reluctantly, I drove around and reordered the missing item. When I returned to the window, I asked to speak with the manager. The young woman at the window told me he was busy. I asked for his name, and she said she didn’t know because she was new. That in itself was unprofessional, but what happened next was beyond unacceptable.
The man who had taken my order made a degrading comment in Spanish, calling me a “stupid woman” and telling his co-worker that I “needed to go.” What he didn’t realize is that I speak and understand Spanish. That level of disrespect is absolutely unacceptable.
This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. As a business owner myself, I can say with confidence that I would never treat my customers this way. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and trains their staff on basic professionalism and respect. No customer deserves to be...
Read moreI dont know whats up with people reviewing this place. Its honestly hands down the best ome in the area. Its kitchy with a roadhouse sortof look and artsy, has that malt shop feel to it with the bar seating. Anyways, the staff was very friendly, they got my order right which is a plus and i dont normally expect perfection from places that have a speed of service count. The food is a little better tasting than the ones in the surrounding towns for sure and made with care and consideration. This place gets busy. Especially on the weekends and night rush. Dont expect fast or prefection. These people here work very hard and are only human and are often given extra responsibility because they obviously manage more than their fair share of things as the place looks a bit understaffed. I think they do a great job for what they can manage. So in reality, dont complain about lines, about little messups, and definitely dont complain about pets being aloud in anymore, theres now laws protecting service pets as if they were human and protecting their owners as well. Heres a tip. Did you know its illegal to ask for proof that a pet is a service pet from the owner? You have to take their word for it as a business owner, otherwise its discrimination. Also, there is no such thing as a service pet license. If anyone ever shows you one, its fake. I learned this working in bars for years and by reading law handbooks. Point being... Great place. I will be...
