Most of staff is great except for the supervisor, Amy. She really needs to be replaced. Any 1 of the other employees would be a grade up from her. She’s so rude. I have stayed there for days and weeks on end. I’m a Choice member and a very good customer but for some reason she’s had it out for me and been rude since day 1. There hasn’t been a single guest I’ve seen up at the front desk to check out and try to get their deposit back that she hasn’t found a way to keep. Either the hotel gives incentive for keeping people’s deposits or she’s pocketing them. Every time I go to the front desk she starts speaking Spanish with 1 of the other workers. It’s obvious they’re talking about me so I decided to use my iPhone to record their conversation and translate it later. Just as I suspected, she had told another employee that she was going to find a way to keep my deposit. I really hope someone from management or corporate contact me so that I can share these recordings with them cuz it’s highly inappropriate and I’m sure they’ve lost a lot of customers due to her rudeness and unprofessionalism. I had a package delivered a couple x’s + never had a problem receiving it from any of the other employees but when she was there and I picked it up, she told me that it’d be a $5 charge.Another x I’d been gone all day and the staff including her knew that. When I came back one workers asked if they could paint my door. I didn’t have a problem with it, and I told her she could until she informed me that my door would have to be left open while they painted and it dried. That’s when I said no I didn’t want it painted that day cuz I wanted to be able to rest in my room without the door open. Shortly after she came knocking on the door and told me that my door was gonna be painted, I had to leave it open and if I didn’t like it, I could get a refund. She said it was hot out so it would dry quick so it would only have to be left open for 15 min, which turned out to be a 1+ hrs. When I asked why she couldn’t have done that while I was gone all day, she didn’t have an answer. Then when I went to check out knowing that she already had a plan to keep my deposit, I went to check out. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my room. It was clean but the back of the toilet lid had broken cuz the toilet was running non-stop, so I had to remove the lid to try to jiggle the handle as well as plunge it myself since the toilet was clogged for no reason just a bunch of water almost overflowing. The lid to the back of the toilet cracked and broke which I informed the front desk about. Amy told me that I was not gonna get my deposit back cuz of it and I should’ve let maintenance fix the toilet and there was no reason for me to remove the lid to the back of the toilet I said that was ridiculous that it’s not like I had caused it to break and It was already fragile and had cracks to begin with and I had informed the front desk about it. Then she told me that the male housekeeper who also spoke only Spanish and also was incredibly rude and also one of the ones she was talking to about trying to keep my deposit on one of my recordings had said that I had put baby powder down on the floor to mask a smoking smell. I absolutely did not smoke in the room, especially since she had made a comment reminding me not to smoke in the room in the past and I knew she was trying to keep it so I made sure everything was perfect when she told me I needed to make sure I was 25 feet away and sometimes the smell of cigarettes can be on my clothes and transferr to the bed and that can make me lose a deposit so even when I did smoke it wasn’t there on the property and didn’t go outside my car and I even made sure to put a jacket on and take it off before I went in the room since she was being so petty and I didn’t want her to have any excuse to take My $100 deposit. I told her there was no baby powder down in fact it was actually roach killer because I had had seen bugs in the room which I have a huge fear of. She also told me she was putting me on the do...
Read moreFirst let me say this place is independently owned, so they can charge you whatever they want and there’s nothing you can do about it. We were just looking for a cheap place to sleep for one night… keep driving by, don’t be like us! NOT SAFE. NOT CLEAN. NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. NOT SUITED FOR CHILDREN esp when others in the parking lot think they own the place, and leave going 60mph when children are crossing. The pictures will deceive you to think this is a “decent” hotel, but it’s far from it. We stayed at the Cambria for 6 days, and instead of driving 8 hours home we decided to find a cheap place to sleep before heading home. We spent less than 12 hours here total, only bringing a bookbag and blanket in. There was plenty other places for the same price, I regret the decision of picking this one. The first room we were placed in didn’t have a lock, then the key fob didn’t work for the next, so an hour after checking in with the slowest service and two small children we finally got in a room. We were also excited about the complimentary breakfast, but I woke up that morning to slop, and sausage links that looked like little turds in my opinion. There’s people hanging out infront of their rooms or by everyone’s vehicles being loud and smoking weed. The beds were stiff and uncomfortable compared to what we had been spoiled with in the previous week. I usually will just go on with my life over leaving a bad review, but if you have children and want to feel safe this place is not for you. If you want sleep without worrying if your car will be broke into, this place is not for you. We thought we were getting what we paid for, but before we checked out, we were informed that we had to pay for the dirty towels in the floor too. They were dirty from their floors being covered in dirt, and not mopped. My children left with black feet, and we had to pay for it and I guarantee you they still haven’t mopped it since we left. You can feel the dirt if you walk barefoot because it’s been such a long time since it was properly cleaned. If you have any complaints, they don’t care there nor does higher up or choice hotels. They just put the blame on eachother. It isn’t a cheap stay after they figure out what specifically they can charge you for, and the lobby was full of others complaining about it too. Do yourself a favor and get a different stay, there’s plenty more low dollar options walking distance from this dump in the area. My husband and I just wish we would’ve paid $120 for another night in original hotel, but you live and you learn. It reminded me of the motel in our hometown, and what it attracts haha. I would sleep in my Honda accord before I stayed here again or any choice hotel....
Read moreI highly advise against staying at Clarion Inn & Suites. My experience at this hotel was appalling, and I want to warn others about the deceptive practices and poor quality of service here.
The hotel keeps guests’ deposits with various excuses and smokescreens, attempting to scam people. I was charged extra for supposed damages that never occurred, and despite multiple requests for proof, the management refused to provide any evidence. This is outright fraud!
The lobby is in terrible condition, with chairs and tables that appear to have not been cleaned in years. The breakfast offered is very limited, and there are far too few seating arrangements for the number of guests, people scrambling to find a place to sit.
The staff are incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful. Additionally, in our opinion the manager's behavior towards young women was uncomfortable and raised concerns. It felt inappropriate and unprofessional, which only added to the negative experience.
The surrounding area is run-down and unappealing, and the rooms are in desperate need of maintenance. From the dirty furniture to the lack of cleanliness, it’s clear that the hotel does not prioritize upkeep.
Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Clarion Inn & Suites. This hotel is full of deceptive practices, unprofessional staff, and an overall lack of cleanliness and maintenance. There are far better options available.
I believe in the power of the internet and hope that honest reviews like this will eventually lead to a hotel like this stopping its fraudulent practices. Unfortunately, my experience is not unique. See all the other reviews on Google, TripAdvisor, Trip.com and so on...
The hotel made no attempt to resolve the situation. Instead, the manager falsely accused her guests of things they did not do. Despite multiple requests for evidence, no effort was made to provide clarity or offer a reasonable solution. This lack of willingness to come to a fair resolution is downright disgraceful.
It is true that the hotel called the sheriff. In a conversation with him, he seemed to recognize the situation, and while he was friendly, he was unfortunately powerless against the management of this fraudulent hotel. It is clear that this hotel is not only guilty of holding onto unjustly collected money but also of making unfounded accusations without...
