This was my first visit to a Pei Wei restaurant. You order you food, get your drinks and condiments, find a table, and your food is delivered. There was a large lighted display before you reach the register. It was very easy to read and showed a description of menu items. I wish there was a picture of each entree for those of us who don't know what to expect. A smaller menu was also clearly displayed at each register making it easier to order. Looked like they have self service kiosks but someone took our order. He was personable, friendly, and helpfully responded to my numerous questions. We paid for full sized Honey Chicken and Teriyaki Chicken. He gave us a table tent and cups. We walked over to get our drinks, napkins, and condiments. Our order was delivered as soon as we sat at a table - very prompt! Our food was tasty, fresh, and warm. White rice was room temperature. Honey Chicken was little too sweet for me and I didn't realize it would be breaded. This is why pictures would be helpful. But I ate all of it :) The restaurant appeared to be clean in general. I took away 1 star because the condiment station and surrounding space seemed neglected. It needed to be wiped down and swept. No knives and no ice in one machine. Take out containers were out and opened - yuck. I think they should be turned upside down at least to prevent spray from coughs and sneezes. Other than the condiment station, I enjoyed...
Read moreI had my one kid at a doctor's appointment earlier and I had to bring them in for a salon appointment. I stopped in at Books-A-Million and still had time to kill and realized I was going to miss my dinner time because it was late in the day. Being diabetic I have to be somewhat careful about eating on a regular schedule. After a quick review of what was in the area I decided to stop in here. They weren't busy and I was able to walk up and place an order fairly quickly. The menu and set up of their stores has completely changed since the last time I dined at one. I was really surprised to see that they have wings now. I ended up choosing the spicy General Tso's chicken with fried rice and water. Usually I end up using some of the spacey chili sauce that they have at the condiment station but I think the person cooking saw me coming and made it spicier than I have ever had from one of their locations. I was very happy with my choice. The servings are fairly big but are very filling and I never feel hungry afterwards. The restaurant itself was pleasant and pretty clean. They have a lot of screens in their order area now rather than the big menu boards which I saw other people also having to adjust to. This was a really excellent meal and I hope to be able to dine in their restaurants more...
Read moreEvery time I have come to this restaurant something has been under cooked/ semi frozen. The first time it was the orange chicken second time orange chicken and kung pao Third time it was the egg roll
The method they use to cook leaves some of the food under cooked. I always get something that is half cooked half frozen. Not all the pieces will be frozen, usually its only one or two, but that is already too much. This food is not up to health code.
Also today when we asked for orange chicken we asked that the rice be separated from the orange chicken and their was barely any rice, I would say it was half the amount we usually get, I went here last week and they gave us half the rice they gave us last time, we complained and they said that was the usual amount of rice. We paid extra for upgrading it from fried rice to white rice and they gave us half of what they usually do and LIED to our faces about it
