This is my first time to dine at this restaurant based on a friend's suggestion. Though it is quite a drive from where I live, I thought I would try the place so I have other Filipino restaurants to consider within the area if I have a craving for Filipino Food. This review is meant to offer CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, not a put down. So positive as well as negative comments are being offered for consideration.

I was greeted warmly and enthusiastically by a guy in T-shirt and shorts and was told that I can take any seat. I ordered several items on the menu, most of them to go, and two I ate right there and then.

By and large, the food was okay, prices are highly reasonable and presentation is great. I love" lumpiang sariwa" and "Halo-halo" which were mainly the reason I went to this restaurant. I sat down and ate these two items while I wait for my to go orders. I'm neither a chef nor a cook, but I know what these are made of back in the old days of Little Quiapo at UP Diliman, QC, D. Tuazon, QC, and Espana in Manila. Although the lumpia was nicely presented and the sauce tasted great, the wrapper was too thick. There was very little or none of the other vegetables that I expected like the lettuce, cabbage and cubed sweet potato. It was dominated by the singkamas and the sweet pea pods (which I don't think had ever been used as a lumpia ingredient.) The halo-halo was full of the ube and leche flan but again lacked the sweet dried or candied ingredients like kaong, sweet potato, white and red beans. These two items brought down heavily my general rating for food. "2" rating

The pancit Bihon guisado was very tasty and could very well feed 3 - 4 people. Rated "4". The mami was as expected and tasted good "3", but the siopao was excellent "5". I will get the siopao anytime. I'm craving some of it as I am writing this. The pancit Palabok was delicious and rated a "4", and so was the Bangus sisig. The Turon was so-so, because it got sort of wilted and the bananas were somewhat overriped. It was not rolled in brown sugar, instead syrup must have been used, so it made the wrapper soggy. "2". The buchi was also good. Toast it to warm it up and make it a little crunchy. "3".

Before I drove to this restaurant, I called a friend, who has been asking me for a while to bring her to a Filipino restaurant, if she wanted to tag along. "Fortunately", she had guests in her house so she couldn't go. I am not an elitist but when I bring along a non-Filipino friend, I prefer to take them to a dine-in restaurant with more standard restaurant setting/atmosphere like Nipa Hut or Kabayan. I will go back to Pistang Pilipino to buy their siopao, and maybe try again the lumpang sariwa...

Worst experience I’ve ever had. If I can rate zero stars I would. I was just there yesterday for the first time. I’m from Pennsylvania and where I live, there’s no Filipino food so I was so excited to get to Orlando because Pistang Filipino looks great on Google map when I looked for Filipino restaurant. But we thought we stopped by at another Filipino restaurant called, “Kabayan”, I recommend Kabayan 100% if you all are looking for great food, great price and great service we should of stayed at Kabayan but I wanted to experience other stores and try more food. So my two friends and I got to pistang filipino and they seem so sweet I looked in their cooler with some kakanin they have this ube flan, it didn’t look good to me looking through plastic container it was in but one of my friend said sometimes they taste better than they look so I went ahead and bought it. I bout 3 more snacks and order turon. While waiting for them to cook turon I thought, let’s open the ube flan and taste, I asked for 3 plastic spoons. We open the container and it smelled kind of bad, we smelled the flan we can’t tell if the smell is normal or it’s bad we all scoop a little with our spoon, taste the flan and it didn’t taste right so we put everything back in the container, when the lady came to give me my turon order to go, I mention to her that the ube flan smelled bad and she looked at me like I’m lying and said but I just made this today so it can’t be bad. So I said I’m sorry but it smells. She took the ube flan to next table must of told they guy sitting there what I said and all of a sudden this guy out loud said, “what smell!”, angrily like we’re accusing them of something. I asked why he’s being rude? I thought, how disrespectful! We thought he was one of the customers. He then walked away. They never apologized or give my money back and I wasn’t gonna eat the ube flan or leave in the car stinking so we just left the flan on the table and left the restaurant disappointedly. No wonder why no one was there when we got there. If that’s how they’re gonna treat their customers, no one will ever come back so please do not go to Pistang Filipino restaurant because you will leave pist off!!! It’s sad because we’re Filipino too and got treated badly by our own folks. Pistang workers or owner, If you don’t shut down after this review, I hope you treat your next customer with respect it doesn’t matter what nationality they are. Customers are always right! You need to provide good customers service. Because how I was treated by you is what I’ll take back to...

A few weeks ago you begged and harassed me and the other tables for a 5 star review. Here you go after tasting your food. I need to remove 4 stars, the food was terrible. I left 1 star for the ONE napkin provided (cheap), and i'll add 1 more for the little fan provided since the a/c is not blowing out cold air. 2 stars is too generous but thats all I can offer since you were more focused on asking the very few customers for 5 stars, rather than serving me edible food. Be careful reviewers, looks like these 5 stars were pressured to be given rather than earned, my colleague and I decided to pay cash since this location was haggling their very little patrons for 5 star reviews. And if one were to leave a bad review they would go through their records to pester them to give them a higher rating. Avoid giving this place your name and credit card!!!! Of course the one problem you will receive is a message from the owner claiming they don't recall the event, or call this a fake, or find a way to cover up their poor food and service. Don't fall for their 5 stars, also pay attention to their photos from their apparrent 5 stars, its all photos from their old online food photos. Come on now its 2020 guests have cell phones to take real time photos. Sad that the owners are creating their own reviews and using their photos that they captured. Atleast take a new photo it might be more believable. If you have read this far and did your research. Get in your car and google other filipino restaurants in the area. There are way better places to eat trust me.

UPDATE. UNFORTUNATELY I MADE TIME TO REVIEW MY RECENT VISITS AND MADE MY NEW ACCOUNT FOR THE PURPOSES OF MY REVIEWS SO ITS NOT YOUR CONCERN AS TO WHEN I CREATED MY ACCOUNT. AS FOR YOU GUYS CREATING 5 STAR ACCOUNTS TO INTICE CUSTOMERS IS MAINLY WHAT I WAS TRYING TO BRING TO VIEWERS ATTENTION. PHOTOS PROVIDED SHOWS PART OWNER POSTING AND ADMITING SHE IS AN OWNER THEN ALSO PLACING A 5 STAR REVIEW ON HER OWN BUSINESS TO GIVE A RATING IN WHICH SHE IS NOT A CUSTOMER BUT...

BEST AUTHENTIC FILIPINO FOOD IN CENTRAL FLORIDA 🫶🏻 Pistang Pilipino Make sure to follow me for more of the best eats in Central Florida unpaid and unhosted. 📍4149 W Vine St. Kissimmee, FL 34741 Pistang Pilipino a true whole in the wall restaurant is located in Kissimmee not in Orlando but incredibly close to it ! This mom and pop family owned business truly has been a Central Florida best kept secret but ya’ll this place may have been gatekept for far too long. If you’ve been here then you know they serve up the most traditional Filipino dishes in all of the area. My notable favorites were the arroz caldo that literally blew my mind. The Kare Kare was amazing however the sauce it came with in one dish I wasn’t crazy about. I would strongly suggest just getting the Kare Kare without the peanut sauce lol. Otherwise the Filipino spaghetti were of course the best I’ve ever tried considering I’ve only ever had it at Jollibee before 🤣 I think I may have had the best here and I’ve spoiled every other one from here on out. Plus the lumpia and their sauce here 😭 what sorcery is in their cooking my goodness !!!!!! Don’t skip dessert and definitely get their Halo Halo I was just mind blown. Have you been here yet ? updated: feb 12 visit: a group of 6, 2 seniors.. we got pork binagoongan, lechon kawali, crispy pata.. bistek (tagalog?) and chicken sinampalukan. for apps chicken skin, fish ball and chich bulaklak.. the experience or food would have been much better if mang tomas brand was used, or at least the sauce has to be improved, say, 10x! (they have their own) portions as usual, were awesome! we had a lot to take home -you could feed 10-15 people for 250 (+tip).. the best dish for the night was the bistek tagalog.. the chicharon bulaklak was just as good as per family. as per cousin garlic rice not the best.. overall for this night 4 of 5. that personalized mang tomas was really bad. will my family drive 45 mins to try them again? who knows. palabok from our first visit was really good. i hope they work on that (gravy) sauce! old review: Everything tasted great! I ate with 2 seniors, but portions were good for 6-7 people: Palabok, inihaw na liempo, 4 rice, adobo pusit, chicken tinola and chicharon bulaklak.. we took the tinola, adobo pusit, inihaw home.. just a disclaimer, the adobong pusit has no "black ink" in it.. the palabok noodles are not the traditional thick and soft noodles, but as my tita said -aldente... but flavor is 100% palabok. the adobong pusit would've been nice if they were bigger, but everything big you'll see in the tinola. the inihaw was really good and recommended to eat with soup and just plain rice. the chicharon bulaklak was good too, as per uncle and aunt. photos of food were taken after eating some -i forgot to take photos before eating.. overall, very, VERY good experience.. staff were nice.. I'm sure my family will visit this place again.. 40 mins from Ocoee. parking no issues..
