This is used to be one of our favorite places in Orlando until today. We came across it by accident about three years ago. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and the atmosphere. Since then we had lunch there every time we were in town. As I mentioned, the food, service and atmosphere were good until a few months ago. Our waiter was a bit out of it and some of the visitors were extremely loud and dominated the place by laughing/screaming loudly. That was on our last trip. Well, today we were looking forward to our lunch. We were glad to see that the place wasn’t crowded when we came in. We sat in our favorite high top table when a manager (or owner?) came up and commanded to move to a regular table by the wall because someone just called and wanted to reserve tables for 18 people. The place was empty except us and two elderly gentlemen at the bar. We were taken aback by the manager’s command. We asked if we could stay at our table because we really liked it and were already there. He got very annoyed and threw menus on a table, went to the bar and loudly complained about us to his customers. After that we had no desire to stay there. Unfortunately, this man ruined our tradition of stopping there for lunch on our trips to Orlando. We...
Read moreWas looking for Sushi and found this place. This is located at the Old Town Orlando. You won’t see the place by driving around the parking lot. You’d actually have to park first then walk into the inner part of the center.
Sakeba is not that big. Has maybe 10/12 tables if that. But there’s bar seating also. When we came there were no tables available but we only waited 10 minutes. The host was pretty nice to let know when our table was ready.
The food/Sushi was amazing! Except I don’t like cream cheese in my Sushi, as some of them had some in it. But let me me tell you we ordered the Sushi combo not know it was going to be a lot! So remember, if you do you might not want to order anything else. I was amaze by the price. Great price for the amount of sushi you get.
I ordered Nigiri Mackerel as well which is a favorite. It did not disappoint! All the waitresses were very friendly and attentive. The only issues we had was the tables in the center were too close to each other. There was a rowdy group behind us and they kept hitting the back of our chairs. And they were super loud. But other than that I recommend this place if you’re looking for good sushi and great price and...
Read moreThis is the first time that the reviews let this family down substantially. There is no way this place deserves this many stars.
Arrived today, ordered drinks which the waitress was prompt about but that was the last time. Food came out as it was ready which was nice however these are ready made meals more or less, very disappointed. Waitress on 3 occasions came to our table over a ten minute span and saw 4 out of 6 glasses empty and on 4th time I had to ask for refills. The food, well, not much to say gyoza not good, spring rolls burnt, curry ordered hot as they can had no spice (they don't even have chilli paste, that for any Asian food lover is a major red flag), basil chicken had two pieces of basil. What's worst is the chicken ordered in the dishes, was flatten chicken, cut in strips like you find at fast food restaurants and that is about how all the meals where.
Place is a solid 2.5 stars, maybe 3 at best assuming this was an off day Sorry but can't recommend...
