Aloha Poke and Grill — Restaurant in Kitty Hawk

New review made 08/08/24 Well I quickly loved this place and now not so much. We try to order here once a month but it’s not really worth it anymore. My husband normally gets the chicken and shrimp grill bowl spicy and I get the spicy chicken. And typically we will get an appetizer. We pay a minimum of $60 every visit. Typically we spend $80 total including tip. We will not be back until the portion is rationed better. The to go orders are 80% rice, we pay extra for fried rice and it’s barely fried with light soy sauce. I can do that at home myself and not pay $3 extra. And the 20% protein is not worth it. It’s not even a full chicken thigh of meat. It’s absolutely not worth $30 an entree. 7 small ( I mean tiny ) pieces of chicken and 3 shrimp. I could have taken out the protein and put the lid back on and you’d never know anything was missing. They just kinda smash the protein on top of the full bowl of rice. Very disappointing and I hope they see this review and make some changes.

Great spot with great food! This is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to stop and grab lunch or dinner on the way home after a busy day! Food is great and the service is amazing ! I will always recommend to...

My husband and I like and eat poké often, so having a spot we could enjoy poké on vacation was exciting. Food was delicious and portions were generous! I was very impressed given that some spots often withhold giving out much in their bowls since it often gets all mixed together. Service was sweet, as well, both team members working up front were kind, friendly, and professional. The entire store seemed clean and welcoming, as well; we would have stayed to eat if we hadn't already made plans to take the food as takeout!

If I have a minor criticism, it is that the bowls for takeout could be larger - not for greater portions, but so I wouldn't be afraid of losing anything while I eat!

On our trip, we ate at fancy fine dining, a high end all-you-can-eat buffet, and here, and I have to say I felt so satisfied and joyful with my experience and food.

The staff was so cheerful and I noticed they had great sanitary practices when handling the food. We received such generous helpings of each topping even though the bowls looked like mountains collapsing in all directions, they still capped our to-go bowls.

The taste was delicious! The sauces were yummy and the protein was great! I only wish I could justify going back again before we leave town tomorrow!
