I recently visited Pizza Stop in Kitty Hawk, NC, and it was an absolute delight! This family-owned pizzeria, located in the heart of the Outer Banks, serves up some of the best pizza I’ve had in a long time, with their cheese pizza being the star of the show. The crust is perfectly hand-tossed, achieving that ideal balance of crispy and chewy, with a subtle flavor that screams authentic New York-style. The homemade sauce is tangy and fresh, and the cheese—shredded in-house using Grande cheese—is melty, gooey, and just the right amount of savory without being greasy. Every bite was pure comfort, and it’s clear they put love into every pie. The pizzeria itself is spotless and modern, with a welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. The stone ovens and open kitchen setup add a nice touch, letting you watch the magic happen. Everything from the tables to the floors was impeccably clean, and the space felt updated with a cozy, casual atmosphere—perfect for a beachside pizza night. The staff truly elevated the experience. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about their food. From taking our order to checking in during our meal, they made us feel like regulars, even though it was our first visit. They were quick to offer recommendations and even brought out some coloring sheets for my niece, which was a thoughtful touch. Overall, Pizza Stop is a must-visit for anyone craving top-notch pizza in the Outer Banks. The cheese pizza alone is worth the trip, and the clean, updated space paired with the stellar service makes it a standout. Can’t wait...
Read moreI gotta tell ya, Pizza Stop in Southern Shores is the real deal, see? It's like a little slice of Italy smuggled right into this cozy town. The crust? Oh, it’s like biting into a cloud that’s been kissed by the Gods themselves. Light, crispy, and perfect, just the way we like it, no funny business.
The sauce? Forget about it! Rich, tangy, just the right amount of sweetness, like your Nonna made it for ya with love and a touch of secret family magic. And the cheese—Mamma mia! It's so creamy, it could make a grown man cry, I’m tellin’ ya.
The toppings? Don’t even get me started. Fresh, quality stuff, like they went to the ends of the earth to get it. Everything’s packed with flavor like a good ol’ family favor, if ya know what I mean. Every bite’s a celebration of Italian tradition—no shortcuts, no cutting corners. They got the best pies in the business, and you don’t mess with that, capisce?
So if you’re lookin' for a pizza that’ll make you feel like you’re back in the old country, you know where to go. Pizza Stop—it’s the real...
Read moreI ordered pizza from Pizza Stop both times I came down to the OBX this year.
My first order was for a large group and we got 5 pizzas for delivery in Duck on a Friday night. I was told an hour. I started calling after an hour and a half and initially was told the pizza left 15min prior. I had a hard time getting through they were so busy. We didn't get our pizza until 2 hours after ordering. I was on the phone with them again when it arrived and I don't think it left when the first person I spoke with said it did. When it arrived it was hot. And importantly, delicious.
Second time around I ordered for pickup on a Friday night. They said 30min and it was ready when I arrived a little early. The woman at the counter was friendly. And again, the pizza was delicious.
I'll forgive them for being busy on the first order. Knocking off a star for that. This is now my go to pizza spot when...
