It's nice, clean, the servers are nice and they have good tasting food and a hibachi that actually works. I wish their desert section had some more variety, more cookies and cakes might be nice, but it's still a newly opened store that's trying to gain traction. So it can be excused that the selection is a bit smaller than say great wall. But again, working hibachi which until Great Wall gets theirs up and running, this might be my go to. Adult lunches are 12.00$ and Adult Dinners are about 15.00$. Between the person I was with and myself at lunch, it came to about ~29.00$.
I saw someone's review be a 3 star about how you need to get your own drink, but from my experience I had to tell them I wanted to get my own drink. And if you have to get your own drink, boohoo? We do it everywhere else and having ease of access is better than waiting or hailing for a server to get to you. And with how the drink station is placed, you can just take your cup and fill it on the way to or from the buffet.
Which speaking of the buffet, they have small variety. They have what's to be expected, meats, rice, salad, American and specialty dishes like pork belly and roasted sausage. I tried their chicken and mushrooms and pork belly, and I am impressed. The meats are always fully cooked without chewing like a leather shoe. Nice and tender chewing with plenty of flavor. The pork belly having a sweet and savory sort of taste and a nice consistency of fat and meat. The chicken and mushrooms holding a more salty and savory flavor, with the mushrooms maintaining moisture and holding the flavor of the sauce.
The man running the hibachi was amazing to. He knew his stuff and was able to grill the steak to a medium rare texture, leaving a tender steak that can just melt in your mouth. The chicken gets cooked until it's white on the inside as well as out without being burnt on any side. The sauces of choice are well incorporated without overwhelming the dish of choice, leaving a goldilocks sort of dish where everything is just right.
I'll definitely come back with family. Hope to see this restaurant grow and get big as...
Read moreWe arrived at the time of opening for lunch. This was our initial visit. There were several tables of food for the buffet. The hibachi grill was open, but we wanted to try our most liked Chinese dishes, so we only did the buffet. They have an impressive sushi bar. However, out of a dozen or more options, only 1 sushi dish was spicy. I did ask about this, and the chef offered to make me something, but I wanted to try the buffet as well, so I declined. I will say that the one spicy option was the BEST I've ever had--I could eat it that one every day! The guys like skewered teriyaki chicken, but we didn't see any on the lunch buffet. I like crab Rangoon, their's is OK, just kinda bland. However, so many of the other dishes being so outstanding made up for any food lacking our taste. They also have a dessert bar, complete with a chocolate fountain and single serve ice cream. Regrettably, I was too full to try it on this visit. All the food was at an appropriate temp, and staff were constantly bringing out fresh dishes, and I had never seen any that were just stirred and tossed but never replenished. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the fresh green beans - so fresh and crisp, not soggy or overseasoned. I also think I've finally found the best lo mein noodles and the other type -(all dishes are clearly marked) perhaps called spring noodles, but that doesn't sound right either, but outstanding! The guys said to mention the pepper chicken, and I did have a few bites and agree with them for tasting a little different from other places- same with the hot sour soup- tasted just a little different than everywhere I've ever had it but in a good way, packed full of bokchoy and shrooms etc. Overall, we really enjoyed this new addition in kokomo and will most certainly be returning very soon! Thank you for the seniors and...
Read moreThis was a nice restaurant. The bathrooms were clean. It was very nicely decorated. They have an amazing game room. They have a photo mat. The buffet tables are very well organized and well lit. The sushi bar was great. You can see in the pictures where they have little timer reminders that tells them when the sushi was put out. I don't know if that's a department of health regulation or just their method of making sure that the sushi was fresh. Either way it's a great idea . The salad bar was well stocked but it was missing some salad dressings. There wasn't much of a selection. I would have appreciated a nice vinaigrette. They only had chocolate pudding, which was a little disappointing as we are rather fond of the banana and tapioca that many other Chinese restaurants have. But to their credit they did have individually packaged ice cream cups so that you didn't have to deal with scooping ice cream that's too hard or wondering whose hands had been in the ice cream before you. The price wasn't too terrible coming in at $25 and change for two people at lunch without drinks. The hot and sour soup was very good. They had a good selection of shrimp. The pineapple chicken was amazing. The staff was very friendly...
