I recently visited with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience wasn’t the best. As someone with dietary restrictions, specifically avoiding meat, I was disappointed to find that the menu had very few options to accommodate. Despite asking the staff about potential adjustments or substitutions, they said they would not remove meat from any dish, including a basic breakfast sandwhich because they did not know what it would taste like without it. When asking about another basic menu item she again said no but asked the owner. The owner said no because she didn’t create the menu to be changed and they did not know what it would taste like without the meat. I actually thought she was kidding. I do understand this is her right as a business owner but I also know we won’t be back. It felt as though the café was not prepared or willing to cater to different dietary preferences, which is unfortunate, especially in a world where dietary needs are becoming more common. I did go with my family to Doubting Thomas where they had a breakfast sandwich that was exactly the same as this cafe and they were more than happy to remove the bacon. A very simple request. After visiting the cafe, I did read and hear from other locals that this is a common theme...
Read moreMy favorite lunch spot in TOWN!!! The always amazing, Adrienne Akers, has facilitated the most amazing little market and lunch cafe. Serving delicious food that won't hurt your body later by only using the freshest and wholest of ingredients. Rice and quinoa bowls, wraps, salads gluten free and vegan options for nearly everything! Soups!!And after I place my order and wait for my ever delicious lavender and honey green tea or my iced oat milk espresso, I wander the market collecting my essential bath products from Sylvie's Soaps, my gluten free vegan scones from A Woman Sconed to last me the week, and whatever other impulse buy my dopamine chasing self can get my hands on. Then comes the drink, then comes the food and I'm nearly always a member of the clean plate club. Unless I can't decide between 2 entrees and end up getting both. 🤣 can't help it. It's that good!!! Once a week minimum or I'm having withdrawal!...
Read moreRadish Market & Cafe is a true Kokomo gem. This is a small market and gift shop, as well as a great little cafe to sit and enjoy a good healthy meal. Adrienne is the owner, and Tabitha is the operations manager. Both are heavily involved in local Farmer's Markets and have won multiple "Indiana Master Farmer's Awards." Nearly all foods are from small local farmers within 100 square miles, including meats, vegetables, eggs, chips, and drinks. The food is great, the atmosphere is very cool, relaxed and inviting. The staff is amazing and passionate about what they do. But don't get attached to one thing here as the menu changes monthly to accommodate the freshest ingredients;) This wonderful place deserves our business and to stay in Kokomo for a long time. I highly recommend you try Radish Market & Cafe! Help...
