I am giving this place 3 stars because, the staff is very courteous, I like big fries and the place was well kept. Now when I order 2 burgers, 1 large order of fries, 1 small order of fries, and 2 medium drinks and pay 31.00 and change, you can bet I am expecting the best burger I have ever ate in my life. It was not the case. Although it wasn't terrible, it was far from being worth the price paid. I have had better burgers at Chavelos in Buda and Short Stop even has a decent burger. I normally don't complain about prices because I know all to well what it takes to run a business being a business owner myself but I gotta say that 31.00 for what I got was way overboard. If every other burger place in town was closed and I wanted a burger bad enough then sure, I would go back. I would have to pretty darn hungry for a burger though. Now if you want a seriously good burger then I suggest you try Hut's or Sandy's. They are both in Austin and well worth the drive and you will get out of both places for 20.00 or less for 2 people and you will brag about...
Read moreSo I hadnât been to a 5 Guys in about 5 years, so this was my first time in a while. I ordered a burger and large fries. IT TOOK 45 MINUTES for them to do my order! That is just insane. I get my food and my large fries was equal to the amount of a Large fry at Wendyâs. I waited in line again to show the guy at the register who told me it was supposed to feed 3-4 people and he said right away they forgot to add the âextra topâ that they normally fill a bag with. I had to wait again for them to get me the rest of my portion of fries while the food I just waited 45 minutes for began to get cold. By the time I got it home only the fries I got at the end were still warm and I only live 5 mins away. The staff was very friendly which is why they got 2 stars but come on people, 45 minutes for a burger and fries!? Thatâs insane. I love the food but I doubt I will ever go back since it cost me $17 and longer than a sit down restaurant for 2...
Read moreAlways a pleasure having a burger at Five Guys. If you order your burger all the way, or just your way, try a splash of hot sauce at least once. It changes the flavor dynamic in a good way. If you want something really decadent, try a grilled cheese bacon burger (a grilled cheese with patties and bacon, other toppings optional, and not recommended). On a sad note, of late I have noticed a downturn in store cleanliness, especially in the bathrooms. Usually if a restaurant has dirty bathrooms, I assume they are being cavalier with their kitchens. It may be dependent on the locations I have been visiting, but it is frequent enough that it seems to be systemic, and means a lack of leadership at the top (corporate policy isn't making its way down to local store management). Five guys has a superior product. High price and lack of drive-throughs are what keeps these stores sparsely populated, but that works for me. Still my...
